We had a wonderful pair of interconnecting rooms. Our kids thought the spiral staircase was straight out of Dumbledore’s office! Convenient for walking to the sights of Seville - near the Parasol Metropole or a cheeky late night bubble waffle on Calle Cuna. But not in the shadows of La Giralda or Santa Cruz - it’s a 15 minute walk. Tricky to drive close to, best to get your taxi to drop you nearby and walk the last bit. Rooms clean, beds comfy, if a little form for me. Breakfast tasty. Staff friendly and helpful although they don’t stand around waiting for you so you have to find them. Very happy with our stay on a quick city break.

The hotel itself is like a palace. Full of art and historical furnishings. Extremely charming and the room was very romantic. At point on arrival I could tell that this was a rather special place. Great service by the the front desk and Lorenzo who we spoke to at the bar gave us some great recommendations on places to eat. They couldn’t do anymore for us. Super great service and they even walked us to the car after checking out. The breakfast was lovely and the hotel is perfectly located for visiting everything the city has to offer! Very pleased with our stay here! Thanks to all involved

Why did I love it so much? Because the people who run this hotel also clearly love it. The hotel felt special the minute we walked in. Sincerely friendly service. Palazzo with enclosed courtyard. Great decor and design, filled with antiques and exploration themes. The breakfast was very good and high quality. And, while there is a wide range on rooms, we were kindly upgraded to room 201 which is a two level, two bath, suite. (But, there are many rooms that we would have also enjoyed).

LOCATION - It opens on to the small Plaza de San Andres. about 10-15 minute pleasant walk north of the cathedral. In between is a lively shopping area.

PARKING - As another reviewer noted, getting to the recommended Parking Imagen garage, for us was nearly impossible, after 90 minutes we gave up and found Parking Escuelas Pias which is a 10 minute walk. Only a few minutes farther. Leave the car and forget about it while in Sevilla.

Room tip: This is a hotel worth getting at least a "Superior" room.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Ateneo for a night as part of a driving tour through southern Spain. The challenge was getting there. Due to construction around the hotel, it was almost impossible to drive up to it, or even get very close. GPS completely gave up. After over an hour of circling, we finally got someone from the hotel to come and meet us and help us get there.

Once that was taken care of, though, we had a lovely stay. The hotel is interesting and beautiful. Our room was very nice (though there was a glass door that separated the bathroom from the bedroom, which was a bit odd.) We really loved the lobby area, the nice bar, and the breakfast.
