You really get what you pay for as regards Seville hotels. Having been to Seville 6 times and stayed in various hotels, from 1star to 4star, I can say that this budget hotel in a quiet cobbled street is fine for a short break - good value for for what you are paying. Reception guys don't speak any English which was fine for me as I speak Spanish anyway, and I found them friendly and helpful, but the language barrier could be a problem for some visitors if they don't at least attempt to speak a little bit of Spanish. We had a double room on the ground floor with private bathroom - furnishings all very clean and pleasant - towels changed every day. Not a very big room, but what do you expect for the price? The room only had an internal window, overlooking the reception area. There is a vending machine for coffee in reception and if you need bottles of water, they will unlock a closet door where there is a drinks vending machine. Hotel is convenient for the bus station and the Museum of Fine Arts. The rest of Seville can be covered by foot fairly easily so although I would probably rather stay in the Barrio Santa Cruz area by choice, its still convenient and most things including the shopping streets and the cathedral are only a maximum of 20 minutes walk away. The individually controlled heating in the room was the vent type and was efficient, as it was very cold in Seville at night this time, although beautiful and sunny during the day. Overall, this hotel is acceptable for a short break - but for a hotel at a similar price, stay at the Hotel Un Patio de las Cruces as the location in the Santa Cruz area is a bit nicer and more quaint.

Room Tip: Ask for a room 'con una ventana y mucha luz' - i.e. with a window and plenty of light!

First off, if you have a car, don't bother with this hotel. Finding parking is a night mare, in fact just trying to unload the luggage was horrendous and nearly ended in us taking out the exhaust system from under the car on the high curbs while trying to stay far enough off the road and away from the rude and impatient drivers using this minute laneway. Prepare to dump your luggage in the entrance way and set off to find parking immediately. A large underground parking lot 5 mins away....sounds great but finding it is another thing. Once we were established in our rooms, we realised the true gravity of our mistake in booking with this hotel. The room had no window to the outside, just a foot square window to an indoor space for keeping cleaning items. No fresh air to be had. The a/c was a joke, a drizzle of slightly cool air was what you got. It was stuffy, warm and cluastrophobic and we had two days of it. Never again would I stay here, not even for the downtown location.

Room Tip: Try another hotel!

After reviewing their website and getting a recommendation from another hostal, I booked Hostal Roma.

We arrived to room 202. Right in the back. These rooms have a dark, musky smoky feel and in the middle of the night, both of us woke up choking due to the bad air quality.

We asked for the airconditioning, but it had little effect.

We would have tried to open a window but thy opened to face a storage room! We even woke up to hearing people in the storage room! The bathroom was not very clean either; the glasses had some residue and there was still toothepaste remains on the little shelf.

In the morning, we shared our complaints. A lady came in from another hostal down the street to assist. She claimed that if we had difficult breathing, we should have opened the window. Of course, she stated that a window to the storage room is enough for fresh air! She said that Air conditioning in october does not work. They argued that since we saw the room and had slept in it that we should not have the right to complain the morning after.

We were forced to pay the price of 65 euro for a double, which is a complete ripoff even without these complaints. The staff were not helpful with our concerns and I would not recommend staying in their hostals.

We were a group of 11 and stayed three nights. While some of the rooms on the upper floors were light and reasonably roomy, our own room, 303 was TINY and had only one window which was about one square foot and only allowed in air. It opened onto a storage closet. Avoid room 303! But if you get one of the rooms in the front, you'll be happy.

This hostal is located in a great area and is centrally located. It was wonderful to walk around in the old quarter. We were able to get a private bath which was nice. But we had to ask for clean sheets and towels despite the room already being considered "cleaned". The management was not as friendly about it as they should have been, in my opinion. So consider it a functional place. I wouldn't drink out of the water glasses provided.
