I love places like that one. Specific atmosphere, various foods and it all with the accompaniment of very personal relationships between sellers and clients. They know each other for years, choose the best of the best, advise on the way of preparing a dish. They will cut the meat/fish for you, do everything with the seafood to make it easier to prepare for you... What do you want more?
Of course, the foods are more expensive there than in a supermarket, but you get a very good quality with a pinch of love from your trustworthyl sellers.
It is good to go ther in the morning (they close about 2-3 pm), do the shopping or just have a look and buy a piece of fruit for lunch and have breakfast there. Just sit, enjoy your coffee and pay attention to the old friends and their daily lives. Then you can fully observe the life of the mercado.
I recommend: pan de higo (fig bread), it can be bought in fruit stalls. And all variety of cheeses!!!
