Owner description: For a more authentic and decidedly less well-scrubbed experience, it’s worth crossing the river to explore this scruffy but vibrant old quarter, historically the centre of azulejo, or glazed-tile production. There are plenty of tapas bars for sustenance to sustain your ceramic shopping, and it’s fun to seek out the surviving corrales. These tiny buildings with flower-smothered courtyards once housed extended the gypsy families from which emerged Spain’s greatest flamenco dynasties.

Fun to explore the area on cycle and then by foot. Bohemian chic with many unusual shops and eateries. Not entirely touristy which was a bonus

Quite unlike the rest of Sevilla, this area is where the day to day work of fishing took place. It has a liveliness and personality all it's own. Some lovely smaller churches, shops and cafes.

Wonderful cheap tapas and a few god shoe stores. Don't try to buy pottery here for almost every store owner only sells to locals and not tourists. What a shame.

It was fun to "live" here while in Sevilla. Great restaurants, an active pedestrian street and beautiful ceramic shops. A great walk along the river to the center of town where the monuments are located.
