Owner description: For a more authentic and decidedly less well-scrubbed experience, it’s worth crossing the river to explore this scruffy but vibrant old quarter, historically the centre of azulejo, or glazed-tile production. There are plenty of tapas bars for sustenance to sustain your ceramic shopping, and it’s fun to seek out the surviving corrales. These tiny buildings with flower-smothered courtyards once housed extended the gypsy families from which emerged Spain’s greatest flamenco dynasties.

If you are on a bus tour ok but don't make an effort to come here there isn't much to see that is noteworthy.

We walked around Triana, loosely following this walking tour map - http://www.visitasevilla.es/media/docs/rutas/ItinerarioTriana.pdf - and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There are many small churches to enjoy as well as seafood tapas. Triana market should not be missed for a glass of wine and a snack or lunch.

Interesting area if you go off the beaten track. There were lots of shops and food outlets. Nice views from the river and bridges.

The fish restaurants on the river look fantastic. I would go back when the shops are open to explore it more....it intrigues me.

This is the heartbeat of Sevilla and flamenco territory. Eat at Casa Manolo. Visit the ceramic factories
