Owner description: The Flamenco Dance Museum in Seville is the principal reference of the Andalusian cultural heritage, which makes understand and feel the union between culture and flamenco art, it is considered therefore as the temple of the Andalusian flamenco culture. The fusions the tradition of flamenco art with high technology and becomes the main entrance portal for the emotional understanding of this expression of Andalusian identity. A simple must for the cultural tourist.

“Stunning”

I would not recommend visiting the museum without seeing a show-you will be disappointed. The museum really sets the context for the show. You will learn the 7 principal styles of Flamenco which can then be related to the show. The stage is quite intimate and creates a great atmosphere. It is set out like a typical Andalusian patio. There is a small bar at the side where you can purchase a drink to have whilst watching the show. There are 4 performers, a male and female dancer,a singer and a Spanish guitarist. Between them they created an evocative and emotive performance that completely captured my attention. It was absolutely beautiful and will stay with me for a long time. If I could make one comment to the manager I would recommend that you only allow people to take photographs at the end of the performance. It was very annoying having people stand up or hold up cameras and phones during the show and does spoil the moment particularly if you manage to be totally immersed by the show as I was.

“Catch a Flamenco show for a taste of Sevilla”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

On certain evenings, this museum offers Flamenco shows that are the perfect length of time to get a real good taste of an amazing Spanish tradition.

“Beautiful and SO impressive!”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

This show was definitely worth it. The dancers, vocalist, and guitarist were amazing. Didn't go to the museum portion, but my 2 friends who did said they didn't think it was worth it. Just go see the show!

“Uninspiring”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

Very disappointing exhibit. Not worth 20 euros for both of us. In and out in 30 mins, mostly photos and paintings. Expected to see more costumes but very few. A lot of the interactive touch screens were unresponsive. I couldn't recommend this to anyone, sorry.

“Great show, good museum”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

We made two visits, the first to an evening flamenco show, the second to the museum. The theatre is quite small, providing an intimate atmosphere. The show lasts about an hour. The singing, dancing and musicianship were all extremely proficient, the performers clearly have flamenco in their blood. As others have pointed out, best to get there early to ensure a good seat, though we (lateish) ended up on the back row which turned out to be good for taking photos.

The museum came as something of a surprise. As a sometime guitarist I was interested to learn more about the musical aspects of flamenco, but there was almost nothing, just a couple of guitars on one display, nothing about the forms or rhythms. It was all about the dance, the costumes, the culture, the stars, the history. It was almost as if the music was incidental. Very odd!
