My partner and I, along with our good friends, stayed at the Hotel Aliminar last weekend. It was great - we stayed in the rooms on the top floor with the balcony/terrace area which were complete with a fantastic view of the cathedral tower. The service was good from the staff including recommendations of good restaurants (Estrelle, Duplex). The location was really central, allowing us to explore the city on foot.

The only downside, entirely not the fault of the hotel, was the loudness of the bells in the morning due to proximity to the cathedral tower. Sunday morning's bell chorus in particular was pretty loud and lasted for at least 2 hours on and off. Not good with a hangover. But the campanologists among you will love this location for close up visual spectacle and orchestra of the bells.

We stayed at the Alminar Hotel at the end of november. It is already said many times before, the location of the hotel is perfect! The people working at the hotel are very friendly, helpfull! Good advices for restaurants and other tips won't let you down while you are in beautiful Seville. Though, we did find room ( we had a terrace room on the top floor) very small and dark. There were as well a few mosquitos in the room which was not a big pleasure. Layout of furniture is not logical at all. We could not use the desk because the TV table was next to it which made almost impossible to use chair beside the writing desk ... If you are planning to spend a lot of time in the room then you might look for something else... But Seville is too beautiful to spend the time in hotel room!!!

The Alminar is a fantastic little hotel. The staff, comfort and location are all outstanding and I would urge anyone planning a visit to Sevilla to stay here. As a travel consultant, I have stayed in a huge number of hotels worldwide and this is the first time I have felt compelled to send in a review. We had a small problem with the water temperature and the director himself made sure it was dealt with immediately. On arrival, the minibar has free water and soft drinks and there is a complimentary 'Coffee Corner' in the lobby with tea, coffee and soft drinks. Breakfast is very reasonably priced and has the usual toast, cereal, cold meats and cheeses etc.
I can't wait to book my next stay!

The hotel was very nice, but it was the staff that made The Alminar really special. Maria and Francisco were great and conveyed their love for Seville and their joy at making our stay special. The restaurant reccomendations were excellent. They arranged for our flamenco show, Casa para la Memoria, which offers an intimate show with guests sitting on chairs around a patio. We also took a walking tour that they booked for us with Conception Delgado. The tour lasted for 2 hours and was 12 euros per person and well worth it. She also does tours of the Cathedral and the Alcazar.which are very good. I also strongly suggest a trip to Basilica Macarena which can be reached by the city bus. One can see th religious floats that are used during Holy Week and they are magnificent. The horse and carriage drivers apparently try to charge more for the ride than the regulated city rate so tourists need to be aware of this fact. The rate in Nov. 2007 was 30 euros, but we consistently heard them ask 40 euros. The breakfasts at the hotel were good and we loved the free coffee which one could prepare at any time. The location, as others have mentioned is excellent. I can't imagine a better place to stay in Seville!

We loved this hotel! This was our favorite on our vacation around Spain. The hotel is nice and clean and in a fantastic location. It is only about a block from the cathedral. What makes this hotel really stand out the most, however, is the service. Both Maria and Francisco were so helpful and friendly. They really know and love Seville and our happy to help in any way they can. Maria recommended an unbelievable restaurant, Vineria San Telmo. She also steered us in the right direction for our flamenco show. I loved Seville and The Hotel Alminar and am looking forward to returning.

My Husband and I had 2 days at this hotel and although we arrived at nearly midnight the staff were delightful and helpful. We had one of the ground floor rooms which I wouldn't recommend to light sleepers as breakfast service is a bit noisy. It didn't bother me though. The room was beautiful and clean and the restaurants recommended for food were also excellent.

The lady on the service desk also helped me with my Spanish so I could
buy rail tickets. She really was a star. The location is yards from the Cathedral and the Alcazar - which is probably the reason you are going to Seville. Brilliant and highly deserving of the top spot on this website.

just got back from a 4 day break in seville, stayed in the alminar hotel, great hotel , great staff, great location , great city, the staff go far out of their way to be to be helpful, and set you at ease as soon as you walk through the door. go out of the door turn the corner and your in the heart of the city centre, turn the other corner and your in the middle of loads bars cafes and tapas bars, right next to the fantasic cathedral, i don,t think i,ve ever seen a city so clean , so friendly, and with people with such good manners as the people of this city. well done.
