“Worst hotel room in Spain”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2012

We have traveled a lot in Spain and this is the worst hotel we have been to in Spain ever. The location of the hotel is prefect for visiting Seville and the personal was friendly in general. but there are some major issues. We have communicated this to the hotel personal before leaving and this review reflects the same comments. We are a couple and we stayed the in room "Triana" (or similar) which is directly accessible from the lobby. First of all our rooms was full of insects and when we mentioned this at the reception at midnight, they supplied us with an anti-insect spray! Furthermore, the room is very noisy as you can hear all the happenings in the lobby and at the reception all throughout the night. Also the room is at the roadside and the traffic noise is too much after 6 in the morning. At check out we were told by the receptionist that we were the first ones to complain about both these issues. This is however hardly believable as we had seen insect stains caused by killings insects on the wall in the room. Also the noise from the lobby is clearly unbearable and we cannot imagine no one complained earlier. A clear rip-off for the money we paid and you can definitely find much better rooms in the city.

Room Tip: If the hotel has rooms that are not directly accessible from the lobby, I would prefer that.

Hopefully the challenges are being attended to, but there was a plumbing problem at the hotel which led to sewer fleas and a bad odor in our room. (We were given bottled water and told not to drink the water from the faucet.) Front desk people were all friendly and hotel had an excellent location and good internet service. The lobby and courtyard were nice, but our towels had such high nylon content that they smear water rather than absorbing it. Overall a basic hotel, but more basic than others in this same category. Good thing the city had so much to do that we spent little "awake time" there.

Great little hotel with a beautiful courtyard, immaculate rooms, and incredibly helpful front desk staff. All 3 ladies who helped us at the front desk during our stay were very attentive and spoke great English. The hotel itself is in a great location, within walking distance to the train station and center of the city. Very charming place. And there are great little restaurants right down the street. Would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed in this hotel for two nights during our weekend in Seville. The location is very convenient for visiting Seville's main attractions. The Cathedral and Giralda, the Alcazar and la Macarena are all within 7 to 10 minutes by foot. Casa de Pilatos is just around the corner. Also, El Rinconcillo, Seville's oldest bar is situated on the same street and is definitely worth checking out. This does not mean that the street is noisy, quite on the contrary. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We got a room on the second floor, it was clean albeit very small and with a perfectly reliable WiFi connaction. I would definitely recommend this hotel for travelers, who are looking for clean and comfortable rooms at a good location. The traditional style of the building gives the hotel points for charm over standard budget hotels.

Perhaps we have been a little bit spoiled on our journey, because we were staying in so many beautiful hotels in Andalucia. There is nothing particularly wrong with the Don Pedro, but in comparison it was perhaps the least impressive of the hotels we had been staying at. Our room was nice, but maybe just a little bit too small to feel 100% comfortable. Also the interior seems to have become a little bit shabby over the years. But then again - this is Sevilla, and the location of the Don Pedro gives you a very good start to get around to see everything you would like to see there. Especially at night the neighborhood makes an excellent starting point to get into the infinite night live activities that Sevilla offers.

On arrival make sure that your navigation system works when you come there by car, otherwise you might find it difficult to get there given the labyrinth of one.way streets. We were extremely lucky to find a parking lot rather close, but you cannot rely upon that. The hotel does not offer any parking, and using an official car park that they recommend might become rather expensive when you want to stay longer.

Our arrival was a little bit bizarre, as the lady who received us was just so much like María Elena (Penelope Cruz) from Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Not displeasing, but just a little bit remarkable. The other stuff we encountered the following days was a little bit more conventional.

In summary we would recommend the hotel, although it is not the very best place we have encountered in Andalucia.
