The hotel is located in the north part of town and difficult to find without GPS. Like other spanish cities it's hard to find a parking space, so we used the hotel garage but it is so small that if we could go back we would have used the city parking although it was a bit more expensive than the one in the hotel.
In the morning, we woke up with noises from the street even though we were in the 3rd floor.

We stayed here for the England v Spain game. The hotel was quiet and the staff on reception were very friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English. It was a bit further from the centre than we had thought, it's quite a hike, but taxis were plentiful and reasonably priced. NO decent restaurants in the locality though. On our first night we had walked round the centre all day, walked all the way back to the hotel for a shower and wanted a meal somewhere near the hotel. But we ended up with a kebab as we literally couldn't find anything else.

We showed up Dec. 29th after a long day. I was glad we chose to take a taxi from Santa Justa, having read a previous review that it's farther than the website suggests from the train station. i would easily walk the distance, but not with all that luggage!

Anyway, the person at the front desk said he didn't have my reservation, and the hotel was booked. I took out the printed e-mail confirmation I'd received from another staffperson the month before. I guess that person didn't enter you into the system, he said. Then he told me I shouldn't trust any confirmation that I get over the internet. I should've called to make sure. Then he told me how much he hates his job, because of situations like this one. Finally, he called another hotel and got us a room there. Maybe it would have been nice to stay there, but I never got past the disorganized and unhospitable front desk staff to find out.

The primary reason why I chose this hotel was because it was suppose to be close to the train station. It was a very long walk considering we were carrying our luggage. On the way back (from the hotel to the train station) we ordered a taxi, which arrived 15 min earlier than the requested time. The taxi driver charged us for the waiting time. It’s a 30 min walk to the center from the hotel. We used taxi. The hotel is not a 3 star hotel! We stayed in a much better hotel in Spain that had a 2 star rating. The room we stayed in was very basic and had a lot of stains on the carpet. Other than that it was clean. The TV had only Spanish channels with bad reception. The bathroom was big and the shower had good water pressure. We also found a bottle with the roach killer spray in the closet although we didn’t see any insects in the room. The breakfast (which was included) was nothing special: yogurts, cereals, cheese, ham, jam, juices, tea and coffee. No hot dishes.

Plaza Santa Lucia has an excellent location as it is only about 6 blocks from the main train station, about two blocks from the main ring road (easy access to buses) and a 15 minute walk to the main sites in the old town (La Catedral, the Giralda, and La Plaza de Espana) The staff were always very helpful and answered all our questions. Extremely clean and the shower had fabulous water pressure, better than many in the USA. Hotel was redone in 2002 so everything is in tip top shape. The hotel booked our flamenco show at El Arenal, well worth it. Breakfast available, parking for small autos in garage (daily charge) and elevator access to floors. Would definitely stay there again.
