“great value”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

This place is located in the charming Santa Cruz area, an excellent location from which to explore Seville. We had a one bedroom apartment, with a double bed in the bedroom, a sofa bed in the living room, and a small kitchen--all for 77 euros/night. There is a nice courtyard in the center of the building, with tables, chairs, and a fountain. The staff was helpful in recommending restaurants. There breakfast in the Hotel Murillo, across the street, is very ordinary--it's better to go somewhere else. Overall, we were very satisfied with the Apartamentos Murillo, and would definitely stay there again.

The first thing we noticed about this place was that the location made it very easy to get around. We stayed here for 3 nights and ended up wishing that we had extended our trip as we fell in love with Seville and the location of this apartment. This place is walking distance (about 200 mtrs or so) from a set of nice Tapas bars, the Giralda and the Alcazar. The Santa Cruz Barrio has multiple areas of food joints and it was great that this place was accessible to all on foot.
The apartment was nice with a spacious living room, a well-equipped kitchenette and a separate bedroom. The bathroom was very clean as well. Though this is an apartment, the bed is made on a daily basis and thus we found the apartment cleaned up quite well when we got back at the end of the day. The staff was very helpful and made some fantastic recommendations on Tapas Bars and helped us out with suggesting bike tours and getting a cab in place for us for our early morning trip to the station at the time of our check-out.

One thing to note - there was no in-room safe. So we had to leave whatever we wanted at the front reception for safe-keeping. No hassle as such as everything was done quick, but nevertheless it would've been great if they did include in-room safes in every room.

Given the rate that we were charged for 3 nights, definitely great value for money.

On getting here - not many reviews we read before going mentioned that this part of the town is not accessible easily by cabs. While we were surprised at first, we realized that this is not a problem at all as most of the hotels within the Barrio are not more than 5 mins walking distance from the nearest cab drop-off point.

We stayed 1 night in Sevilla, and selected an appartment as we are 4 in Murillo.
The appartment doesn't really have a view which is the only weak point, all the rest is brillant.
Not expensive, extremely well placed in the Santa Cruz, 5 minutes walk from all the main and wonderful sights (cathedral / alcazar).
Breakfast was also good, and the staff extremely friendly, with Wifi.
There is no parking but you can park for free at the university parking.
Appartment was brand new, and very nice.
On the down side, a bit noisy, as the street are very narrow, and the noise echoes.

Room Tip: Maybe a room not next to one the street ?

This place is located in the Santa Cruz neighborhood very close to la Giralda and el Alcazar and plenty of bars and restaurants very near.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was large and clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. There ware a comfy couch and bed however there were twin beds (.. on wheels..) that move away from each other when you want to cuddle.

The only minus was that it was a bit noisy at night because our windows were located at a very busy street.

Cheap, extremely helpful staff and less than 5 minutes walk to the cathedral, what more could you want when visiting the wonderful city of Seville.
Staff recommended some great eating options and were able to speak English.
I would highly recommend this option.

We stayed here for 3 nights and found the apartment to be spacious and perfect for exploring Seville. The staff were great - really helpful and the roof terrace and bar terrace at the hotel Murillo over the road are both fantastic places to relax with nice views of the cathedral. Plenty of tapas bars very near and recommend a visit to the Hospital de los Venerables which is around the corner - beautiful building and a great small display of Velazquez and Murillo paintings. It is slightly noisy at night but not too disturbing - and well worth it for being so central.

Room Tip: We were in room 26 on the 2nd floor which had a twin bedroom and sofa bed - faced the narrow lane so...

We stayed at the Murillo Apartments for three days in a one bedroom apartment during our recent trip to Seville. The apartment is around the corner from the Alcazar and many of the other tourist attractions, bars and restaurants.
The apartment was nice and clean it had a kitchen area with microwave, stove top, the usual basic cutlery, crockery and dish drainer, but there were no tea towels, dish washing liquid or dish cloth/sponge and strangely no water kettle. The TV was rather old not a flat screen and had poor reception however there is free WiFi throughout the apartments which was great. The bedroom was rather small but the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had an over the bath shower as well as a bidet and a hair dryer. The reception staff and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful and we were provided with a kettle and dishwashing liquid when we requested the items.

Unfortunately the extractor fan started making a loud sucking noise on day two as if it was running but the switch was off. We had the maintenance man come to check it out but all he could say was that the people in the apartment above must be using their extractor and that was what was causing the noise and he couldn't do anything about it. Fair enough if the noise only went for a while then turned off, but the noise went on after that from the time we heard it through the night and next day. The noise was the worst at night as we were out during the day. Between the extractor noise and the noise from the bar downstairs (the small balcony overlooked one of the small alley ways, where the bar was on the corner) it was difficult to get to sleep as it was rather noisy.
We did not eat breakfast as it was at the Hotel Murillo across the alley, which by the way if you are out after 8pm you have to go to the hotel Murillo to get them to let you into the apartment complex as there is no one on reception after 8pm.
This was a basic apartment which is close to most of the attractions. It was not quiet and a little too noisy for our liking, especially with the extractor fan going all night. Can't fault staff service, except the maintenance man who couldn't or wouldn't do anything about the extractor, however if we were going back to Sevilla we would not stay here again but would certainly look for somewhere else to stay.
Found it a little difficult to find the supermarket. Get out of the Barrio of Santa Cruz by walking across the park to Calle San Jose and you will find some very nice restaurants. We had a lovely meal on our last night ther at the El 3 de Oro, Calle Santa María la Blanca, 34. The Sangria there was one of the best I have had in Sevilla.

Room Tip: Ask for an apartment that is not over the side where there is an alleyway and the bar downstairs.
