“Wonderful, welcoming hotel”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

This is a stunning hotel with great style. The room was beautiful and sumptuous, a little small maybe, but it had everything we needed with a large balcony and comfortable furnishings. The view of the city from the roof is lovely and provides a tantalising hint of what you can see in the town, this terrace is also good for a drink in the evening. Very helpful staff who go out of their way to make you welcome in their home. The hotel is a B&B, but with the incredible food and life in Seville, you want to eat out anyway. Good value and perfectly located too. We would definitely come back. I don't think we could have chosen anywhere better to go.

Room Tip: There is no lift, so if you're disabled, choose the ground floor room.

This is a small boutique style hotel in a convenient location close to the Cathedral in the old town. Very nice rooms (we had one of the larger double rooms) and reasonably quiet. Very good, friendly service. Highly recommended!

Lovely hotel with nice rooms! Good location nearby many fantastic tapas bars. One downside, there's no lift! But they have a nice roof terrace were you can lay down and relax. Breakfast is served from 9 o' clock; coffee, tea, fresh orange jus, toasted bread, sweets, yoghurt and muesli.

We spent here 3 nights in August. First it was really hard to find it, gladly we did after an hour searching.
The hotel is situated in a very nice old Spanish house with a lot of charme. The receptioniste greeted us friendly, but seemed also a bit confused. But he showed us where we could park for free ( just in street, but if you have a nice car- DONT park there).
We booked a superior room and got the "red room", which was situated on the first floor. The room was pretty spacious with a nice sofa and sofa table, a window towards the patio and a big bathroom. The shower had one problem: the drain did not function properly, so we had to shower really fast without flooding the bathroom.
The hotel was not fully booked when we were there, which was also nice.
There are no drinks in the room itself, you have to go downstairs and there they have soft drinks etc.
The sleeping quality was not was we expected. The bed was ok, although not really good, but the church next door kept us quite well awake. I have no deep sleep, so I woke up all the time the bell was going.
The breakfast was ok, if you are not a big breakfast- fan this will certainly do. You get per person 1 roll and you can choose between one sort of cooked ham and some manchego cheese. Furthermore they offer a cheap brand honey from a bottle, marmelade ( strawberry and peach) and cake from a package and cookies. You also can choose between coffee or tea, where you also receive one mug of.
We both dont speak Spanish, so we could not communicate with the friendly lady, who brought us our one bread and the coffee, maybe if you speak it you could ask for more, I dont know.
The place itself is well sitatuated in the nearness of all major sights. We enjoed walking through the little streets and felt in general really safe in the city centre.

We liked the hotel, although it has only 1 star, but if we would come back? We are not sure. The church bell was a bit too disturbing for my sleep.

We stayed for three nights at La Casa del Maestro. We had a problem with the air conditioning in our room, which was not good in July. Apart from this, the lack of bath and fridge, no elevator and fairly average breakfast would lead us to look elsewhere next time. However, it is well placed for exploring Seville (we got lost repeatedly trying to find our way back to the hotel, but it seems that is to be expected) and it is characterful.

Room Tip: Ground floor so you won't have to carry luggage upstairs

This is a beautiful extremely well run small hotel in traditional house based round covered courtyard. Well situated in Santa Cruz - can easily walk anywhere including the railway station if you are thinking of taking day trips to Cadiz or Cordoba. (If you are planning to do so do check you are travelling on MD trains as much cheaper.) Room good size, very comfortable large bed, with great spanking clean bathroom. We had no problems with the plumbing as one other reviewer had. Yes, the breakfast room is small but you can eat at the sofa or in the lounge. The range of food at breakfast is indeed fairly basic but fresh. Having fresh iced water and sweeties in the room each day was a real boon. Very efficient free wireless. Staff were friendly and very very helpful. Recommend the roof terrace - romantic place to see the sun set over the Cathedral. Any negatives? No fridge in the room but food everywhere so delicious and cheap we never did the usual cheapo supermarket trip for lunches etc. And, no safe but would have trusted hotel to look after anything of real value if it had been necessary. Cannot recommend this hotel enough.

We had a great stay at La Casa del Maestro, it is a lovely hotel, out of the main tourist area (which is no bad thing) and easy walking distance from all of the main attractions of the city. We enjoyed finding our way through the windy streets. We had a superior room, which was lovely, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and could not have been more helpful. The hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere and breakfast is unhurried - there is a varied and delicious buffet so it is nice to take your time! If you are worried about finding the hotel when you first arrive, the hotel can book you a taxi. Seville is a great city and if you like interesting boutique hotels then I would highly recommend La Casa del Maestro.
