“Cooking Class/Tour of Seville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2014

We are always looking for unique things to do when traveling and David's cooking class fit the bill perfectly. As noted by others, David meets you in a centrally located place. For us, that was the market in Seville. He began by asking about our food preferences, likes, dislikes and of course allergies. We continued with a tour of the market while David purchased many of the items needed for our cooking class.

With our ingredients assembled, we walked back to a studio to prepare our traditional Andalusia meal. Along the way David pointed out many landmarks and great places to try for the remainder of our time in Seville.

The lunch was delicious, including sangria, tapas, soup, a main course and of course dessert, and the portions were very filling. Most of David was a lovely host and chef. He was kind, patient with his sous chefs and very engaging in conversation about Seville. We would highly recommend a cooking class. The laid back vibe fits perfectly with the region!

“Tapas Tour in Seville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2014

Our party of 7 booked a Tapas Tour with Not Just a Tourist, and everyone thought our guide, David Ciudad, was a highlight of our trip. The food choices were diverse and excellent, and as the name “Not Just a Tourist” implies, all the establishments were off the tourist grid. We would have never found these places on our own. But getting David as our guide was the real stroke of luck that we did not expect. Our group consisted of folks both young and old (elderly), and there is no doubt that we were not the easiest group to accommodate. But David is so personable and engaging that everyone was just smitten with him. David’s english is perfect, which was important to some of us already hard of hearing. As he led us from bar to bar, and explained the food to us, David patiently answered questions on everything from tapas ettiquete, to the history of Seville and Triana and his life growing up here, to other recommendations of places to eat and see while in Seville. If you book David for any of the tours he leads, you will feel like you have met a friend in Seville.

“Cooking Class / Tour - Great Way to Get To Know Seville!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

As a honeymoon gift, we received a pre-planned private cooking class and tour with David in Seville on our honeymoon last Fall. David met us in a central location, and began our day by taking us shopping for fresh ingredients at the local market. Along the way, he showed us a few of his favorite sights and some off-the-beaten-path attractions. The tour and shopping alone was a great introduction to the less touristy part of the city. We then went back to David's workshop space, where he taught my husband and I how to cook a four course traditional Sevillana meal, just like he learned from his grandmother! Everything was delicious, including the sangria, and the best part was getting to know David and picking his brain about local history and customs, and well as recommendations for the rest of our time in Andalusia. It was a truly unique and authentic experience, and would highly recommend a cooking class or one of David's other tours during your stay in Seville. Nobody knows the city better!

“Great Intro to Seville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

Wow. What a treat! From start to finish David made our tapas tour in Triana one of the most memorable food tours we've taken. He's a true insider with local knowledge and contacts as well as a passion for his area of Seville. Importantly, the quality of the tapas were among the finest. We compared with other locations over the next days and found ourselves going back to the locations where David took us. Hats off to David.

“Excellent tour to get your bearings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

Did the tour in December with David, we enjoyed it greatly, David was very knowledgable and showed us around the Tirina area...which was very handed when it came to looking for Ceramics. The bookmark provided with a list of translations of some of the main Tapas which was very helpful over the week. Definitely worth doing.
