“Nice hotel”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

The Hotel Amadeus is lovely inside - decorated with musical instruments in every area of the hotel - with a luxurious feel to it. Orange wine and iced tea are left in the sitting rooms for guest use during the day. The room (we stayed in the Mahler) was very nicely furnished and very clean. There is a roof-top deck with nice views of Seville, a bar and a hot tub. Our only complaint is that the hot tub was tepid - not a very warm soak. We asked one of the employees about it, but weren't able to get the temp fixed. The location is fine - walking distance to many things - but parking is a hassle. It's impossible to pull up to the hotel because the entrance is down a pedestrian alleyway, so the best you can do is pull up on the narrow street and hold up traffic while you unload suitcases and get the key to the parking garage down the street where the hotel has reserved spots. My husband pulled up and we unloaded the suitcases. Then he drove around while I took care of getting the key to the garage. It would be a difficult thing to accomplish if you were alone in the car. We choose to stay in the older parts of cities when we travel and so are used to these kinds of inconveniences, but something to be aware of. All in all, a very nice experience in a beautiful city.

Conclusion: Yes, we would recommend to friends.

Cute classical theme with instruments in the lobby, lounges, and rooms. We had a piano consuming precious square footage in our bedroom.

GOOD:
Centrally located with the major attractions in easy walking distance. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our requests. We appreciated the 15 Euro laundry service which helped us travel lighter. Complementary wine and even a brandy in the downstairs lounges. The bathroom in our room was large with double sinks. Nice views of the Cathedral with a small reflecting pool on the roof.

BAD:
The bedroom was the smallest of the comparably price hotels we visited in Spain. The bed was firmer than I would prefer. It had a few dust bunnies under the furniture and the bathtub caulk had a few mold spots, but I'm picky. The remote control for the AC was falling apart. The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan, rather there was a window... that faced the stairwell so we rarely opened it.

Room Tip: Room 202 was quiet with a bedroom window overlooking a small internal patio that nobody used.

We stayed for 3 nights and could not fault this hotel. The location is excellent and only about 3 minutes away from the Cathedral and all the lovely tapas bars nearby. The hotel has a charming feel to it, and the rooms are all individual. We even had a piano in our room - perfectly tuned! We decided to get a superior double and the jacuzzi bathtub was fantastic! Our room was directly facing the atrium and we were never disturbed by any noise, it's also not on a main road so absolutely no traffic noise. Free wifi, no hassle and excellent connection. The staff were very helpful, check in was very easy and they had actually met our special requests. Complimentary orange wine is available in the lounge areas, and I thought this was a wonderful touch. We enjoyed having a drink before or after dinner, and the wine was always topped up. The rooftop jacuzzi was gorgeous and so quiet so we had it to ourselves! We ordered breakfast to our room one morning, and it was enormous! Very fresh and tasty. I can not recommend this hotel enough. If you want a luxurious yet personalised hotel, this place can't be beaten. Seville is also a wonderful city, can't wait to go back.

We were in room 106. Well appointed, some street noise but it did not bother us and quite spacious. The staff was wonderful, helpful and our room was clean. I did some yoga and under the bed could be swept! The location was great. I thought the hotel charming. I loved Sevilla!! We went to an amazing vegetarian restaurant called House of Gaia. Loved having tapa bars nearby.

We had huge expectations about staying here given the reviews of others. However the room was incredibly noisy. You could hear conversations of people sitting downstairs as the sound travelled up the atrium and we weren't near the atrium. Also when people were using the computer along the corridor you could easily hear them typing. The room was small as expected in Europe, but having a floor to ceiling window that looked directly into another room opposite with very little distance between them meant there seemed to be no privacy. The cupboard had an awful smell in it. The safe was not connected to anything.
Lots of lovely restaurant nearby.

Stayed 2 nights here in November. The hotel has a boutique feel to it and has a lovely and warm charm. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was modern.

However there was a slight quirk in our room in that the bathroom was not a separate room to the bedroom (there was just a wall which did not go all the way up to the ceiling so only partially separates the two rooms) so when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and switching on the light - this meant that both the bathroom and the bedroom were illuminated! Not good for my wife who was trying to sleep.
Also there was a slight draft coming from the window - there was a single glazed window with wooden shutter on top. Felt quite cold at night even when heating was on.

Also didnt find the room very good value - quite expensive for what is basically a 3 star hotel.

My husband and 10 year-old stayed in a one bedroom at the Amadeus, which we found very charming and very comfortable. The room was clean, the beds and linens felt wonderful, the bathroom was modern, and against a backdrop of white, a bit of old world charm could be found in a lovely old wooden armoire and settee that graced the room. We were a stone's throw from the Cathedral and Alcazar, and fantastic food! We love visiting Spain and when we return to lovely Seville in the future, we'll be sure to reserve at the Hotel Amadeus!
