“Good hotel in the centre of Seville”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

Reception staff were excellent and room was fine, if a little odd in shape - we had a small hallway with a cupboard instead of a wardrobe, but the bed was so comfy and the jacuzzi bath wonderful after a long day of walking.
Unfortunately the roof terrace was out if action as they were updating it. We were disappointed that we couldn't have breakfast up there, but having breakfast in bed was very indulgent!
Unfortunately, the builders on the roof started work just after 8, banging and crashing but at least it made us get up!

We stayed from 22 to 24 Feb in "Liszt" which was totally lovely despite looking into an inner courtyard - fter the noise of Granada the peace was lovely. We were slightly disappointed that the roof terrace was closed as the views would have been stunning because of the super location but hey ho these things happen and the hotel and service more than made up for it.Charming, quirky, immaculately clean, delicious breakfasts served in the downstairs rooms or in your room, excellent service from the family that run it and the location can hardly be bettered, so close to all of the key sites and a million tapas bars right on your doorstep. When we return to Seville we will certainly stay here

My husband and I were given a small room at the back of the main part of the hotel which was quite small, but very quiet and clean. Although It had no view ( it looked out on to a white wall )it didn't bother us at all as we were out all day and the warm friendly atmosphere of the hotel staff far outweighed the need for a street view! The breakfasts were lovely with a great selection of fruit, ham, cheese, croistants and bread and tea, coffee or hot chocolate etc.
The shower room was small but again beautifully clean.
We absolutely loved the musical theme of the hotel and only wished that our daughter was with us to play the grand piano!
Hotel very conveniently situated to all the local sites and attractions, also only minutes away from good tapas bars and restaurants.
Altogether a lovely relaxing break!

We stayed in Seville from December 21 to January 2.
Our hotel was the Amadeus, Calle Farnesio, Barrio de Santa Cruz, steps away from the Cathedral. We highly recommend it. We were in room 207, a Junior Suite with an open beam ceiling, very quiet, lots of space, nicely appointed. The only drawback was that there were no drawers for our clothing, so we had to use our suitcases for that purpose.
No problem with the heating, the hot water etc. The safe box was located at floor level which could bother some people but it was big enough and firmly attached to the closet. Everything was spic and span. There is an elevator. We took our breakfast at the hotel.continental but plentiful. On the second day, the staff noticed that I had bought some kiwis in town because I would not eat oranges, and on the next day they had managed to get some kiwis for me. Charming attention – which seems to be one of the trademarks of this hotel. For more details, please refer to the other reviews. This hotel deserves to be quoted among the best in Seville.

I can only think that we were just unlucky at the Amadeus. The room we got was in a separate section from the main reception area, and frankly we were underwhelmed! The room was theoretically a superior double, not sure what was superior about it, but it was quite small, very dark (there were no windows that looked outside - only onto an interior. I wouldn't have liked to have been in a standard double. The room was not much like the photo's - that's for sure. From some other reviews I think we might have been worse off being in the annexe, and the rooms in the main building may be better, although I have no way of knowing! The rooftop patio would have been nice - if it was open!! They were having some work done and we couldn't use the rooftop jacuzzi - or the patio, which, other than the rooms was the only place to have breakfast, and in the room there was no desk/table we could have had breakfast at anyway. The staff were fine - good English, very polite and helpful, the bathroom was fine - although again quite small - Shower ok, but my 5'3" wife couldn't stretch her legs out in the bath - very small. The real positive of this place is the location! It is 5 minutes gentle stroll from the cathedral, and you are almost in th Barrio Santa Cruz as you leave the hotel, with the endless bars, restaurants and little shops etc. So to sum up, because of where it is, we had a good few days in Seville (which is lovely!) but I would certainly be asking for a room in teh main block if I went back - which is unlikely.

Room Tip: Main block - avoid the annex

The music theme is everywhere and gives this hotel a lovely unique feel. It has real character and charm, much enhanced by the very friendly owner and her two daughters who run the front desk. Very comfortable rooms and superbly located just minutes from the Cathedral and Alcazar.

I loved this hotel. Took my girlfriend there and was initially worried as its only rated 3 star, but having stayed there for 4 days last December, i feel it should be much higher (i've stayed in lots of 5 stars)...we stayed in the Mozart room (junior suite) located in the original block. (There's a newer block too). The room and hotel were lovely, both full of character, immaculately clean, peaceful even though walking distance to the cathedral and restaurants. The junior suite was large and the bed was superbly comfy. You can have breakfast upstairs or in your room or at the one of many cafes around. On top of this the staff were superbly friendly and helpful..its a family run business which i like,.i loved it ! A great base from which to explore this lovely city....

Room Tip: If you want space, choose a suite or junior suite (Mozart room)...the rooms in the original block ar...
