“Great Hotel and Staff!”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

We spent 4 nights at the Hotel Amadeus in Saville, Spain. The location is great and the building has been renovated in a way that successfully blends an old stucture with modern spaces. We had a minor medical emergency during our stay and the staff was not only helpful, but genuinely concerned about our well being.

The room allocated to us(203) was TINY-hardly any room around the bed and a really small shower. We asked if we could be moved and the receptionist was charming and moved us the next day. Room 104 was bigger ,though i think it is such a shame that the traditional furnishings in each room are spoilt by a "hospital" type pedestal with a nasty metal mini-bar on it! The common areas of the hotel are charming and the positon is great for all the attractions of the city. 9.35 euros is excessive for breakfast-there are plenty of places close by where you can get a typical andalusian breakfast for about 4 euros.

Nice little place with a great deal of character, and charm, Our room was spacious, with an 18th century antique style. Hotel Amadeus has a beautiful rooftop terrace for enjoying breakfast and drinks. The hotel is quaint and filled with classical music from the lobby to your room.

Hotel Amadeus is situated in the lovely neighborhood of Barrio de Santa Cruz, easy walk to popular sites, and neighborhoods. The great thing about this location is that you have so many gems five minutes from Hotel Amadeus. You can find delicious, top-notch restaurants such as Poncio, and impromptu free flamenco shows at La Carboneria Bar.

The service at Hotel Amadeus was great, we paid for laundry service, had a delicious breakfast with a variety of fresh breads, fruit, coffee, and juice on the rooftop terrace, and returned later to enjoy drinks at the terrace bar.

Room Tip: Select a room overlooking the indoor courtyard for a quiet slumber.

A lovely hotel ideally situated for the Santa cruz district. The classical music theme gives a very elegant and tranquil atmosphere with interesting sitting areas tastefully furnished. We would certainly stay again.

A red carpet leads you to the door of this elegant, small hotel with a wonderful musical theme. I stayed as part of a tour group and as each room is different, had an opportunity to see several of the rooms. The rooms are named after composers, there are many little private areas, a lovely lounge off of the entry, and a rooftop terrace. The staff was friendly, extremely helpful and apologetic when our elegantly served breakfast was delivered late due a late arriving employee. No problem the next morning. My room was very comfortable, right off the main lobby and had a window that opened into a little courtyard. I would like to have stayed longer after my tour and will come back to this hotel if visiting Sevilla again. It's location in a little street made it fun to find after exploring Sevilla's narrow streets.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street may be warmer in the summer with the sun beating on the window.

This was our first trip to Seville and we really fell on our feet when we chose Hotel Amadeus. Nestled in a quiet back street in Barrio Santa Cruz, the hotel is calm, cool, friendly, unintrusive, comfortable and relaxing. The staff are very welcoming and attentive and are always on hand to help if needed. There are rooms and alcoves scattered around, all beautifully decorated and most with a musical theme. Our room was light and airy with plenty of space for the two of us. Thankfully it was air conditioned because the temperature averaged at 34 degrees during our stay. Its location was just perfect, only minutes away from most of the main attractions. Breakfast on the terrace was a delight and you could also end the day up there, looking across to the illuminated cathedral. If we visit Seville again, we'll definitely stay here ...... that has to be the best recommendation!
