“Grossly expensive if you pay standard rates”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2009

Used this hotel as it we got an incredibly cheap deal ( 55 Euros) and we needed something close to the aiport for a flight the next morning. Booked two twin rooms - in one the aircon simply didn't work, in the second, it wasn't cold enough. We were upgraded to a Junior suite - which basically got you a second room with a table and chairs - with a rack rate of 350 Euros!

Liked:
Proximity to the airport

Disliked:
Basic quality rooms for a supposed 4 star
Poor reception desk with no porters
Having to pay for parking

I needed a place to crash after an exceedingly long series of flights and this was very nice. Comfortable bed, great shower and free internet so I could whinge at all my friends about my lost luggage (Heathrow). Not in the best of locations, but close to the airport and Santa Justa train station.

Have recently returned from a great long weekend in Seville.
Beautiful city with fantastic culture & arts, and gorgeously hot weather, even in Autumn!
Hotel Vertice isn't centrally-located and is more of a corporate-focussed hotel but only 15 mins from the airport.
Very clean and minimalist with average rooms for 4*.
Breakfast was extra, and was pretty average too, the service was again, just okay.
I really liked the bar service area in the lobby with access to ice and soft drinks though, well it was to us!!! - a really nice touch.
Do go to Seville, it has a surprisingly good nightlife, wonderful food even if you're a vegetarian - contrary to what I had read about the place in advance.
One piece of advice though - know conversational Spanish or you'll get stuck!!!

Hotel Vertice Sevilla is a modern looking, nice business and leisure hotel located in a middle-class residential zone in Sevilla Este district (East Seville).

Reception and staff in general were efficient but certainly not outstanding. A small problem with the bill that I had at check-out was handled well by the receptionist on duty. On the ground floor there's a very nice lounge / seating area where you get free non-alcoholic drinks and local newspapers (from the late afternoon onward).

Breakfast was good. Large selection, though no chef in sight. Not up to standard set by (more expensive) competitors like Sol Meliá for example.

Room was quiet, big and very clean - even had a large balcony.

Location can simply be described as being too far away from everything interesting. Unlike advertised on a website it is not really located "close" to the airport nor the train station let alone the town center.

The hotel is rather surrounded by apartment blocks and smaller shops. Behind the hotel there's a covered pedestrian zone with several bars and restaurants visited mostly by locals. You can hardly see any hotel guest there. Along the 4-land road where the hotel is located there are also a few bars and taberna style restaurants. They too are mostly visited by locals. You don't see a lot of tourists more than 200 yards away from the hotel.

I found some of those neighborhood bars an excellent bargain: beers and drinkable Rioja red wines cost 1 Euro per glass. Just avoid the bar just 50 yards across from the hotel entrance / reception ("Angel" or something similar to that) where they charge tourists a higher price for their drinks than for locals as it seems!

A pizza place called "Maria", located just around the corner from the hotel on the other hand is highly recommended. Excellent pizza and pasta and friendly service.

Directly in front of the hotel there's a stop for bus line 27 which brings you in an air-conditioned bus for only 1 Euro in 30 minutes to Plaza Encarnación Square which is a mere 10 walking minutes from the cathedral area of Seville.

Parking at the hotel garage cost 12 Euros per day. However there's a lot of free parking in side streets, maybe 5 walking minutes away from the hotel premises. Area looked safe enough to me and my rental car.

Finding the hotel by car is a bit complicated but if you check out google maps or similar services beforehand you should be able to find it especially since it can be easily seen from the autopista (motorway) already.

Swimming pool is small but OK. No services there however.

Type of hotel guests varied: business travelers, Japanese tour groups, and individual tourists from across Europe and America made up the majority of the guests I think.

To sum things up: An actually good hotel located unfortunately too far away from the town center.

We arrived at the hotel at 2am in the morning. Checking in was smooth and the staff polite. This hotel is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. As we entered our jr. suite, we were greeted with a smoky room and a 3/4 inch dead roach on the floor! The hotel was full and we could not change room, but the front desk told us that they would send someone to clean the roach away. They sent the security guard who, instead of pick the roach up, kicked the dead roach out of the room with his foot! The room is very clean otherwise.
Breakfast was ok. The hot food was not kept warm. So unless you arrive there earlier during the breakfast time, expect nothing to be warm.
For a four star hotel, I had expected more.

  • Liked — The rooms are really clean besides the dead roach. Beds are very comfortable
  • Disliked — Insect problem.

Bit worried before I went out as Seville's Holy Week was on and there were few hotels available.
Breakfast was not included in the price I paid so I dont know whether it was good value. You can get it in your room for about 9Euro plus tax..
Room was OK, not sure whether 4 star quality but 2 separate rooms with 2 TV's (1 remote though!!) and furnishings were smart.
Sound proofing is non existent. You can hear the flushing of toilets and emptying of baths from adjoining rooms very easily.
Location wise its not as bad as some reviews suggest. You can take a cab but unless you are worried about safety (no reason to be!!) you can take a 22 or 27 bus into the centre which takes about 15-25 mins. And its only 1 Euro so excellent value and fairly frequent and also the bus stop is right outside the hotel. I would advise the bus as a good way of seeing things too.
Beware of taxi rip offs. despite the prices being advertised as anywhere from 19-22 Euros from airport (which is only 10mins drive away) I was charged 29 from airport and 25 back. It was public holiday time so maybe that was the reason but expect to pay less.
Checking out please be aware that your quoted price may have a 7% tax added on so check this when booking.
Overall a smart hotel, decent location but you may wish something more central as its not really walkable. But as I said public transport is very good and cheap.

Stayed for 1 night in July with family (wife and 3 girls), plus a freind.

We drove from the airport and parked in the hotel underground car park (couldn't find anywhere to park on the streets nearby and we had luggage for 2 weeks). Go to reception and they will open the door - not obvious from the outside!

The surrounding area didn't look too promising (on a busy main road, building work going on nearby and a couple of rubbish skips in the street), but inside it was lovely and we weren't disturbed by anything!

Clean spacious rooms (each suite had a twin bed room and a lounge with a very nice sofa bed). There were TVs in both the bedroom and the lounge. Bathroom was clean and spacious with a wide selection of toiletries, sewing kit, etc. Air conditioning was lovely on a hot night. Modern decor and well kept.

Staff quiet and a bit reserved, but spoke good English. Service was fine.

The pool was clean and cool. Refreshing for an early morning dip. Pool towels available from reception (deposit 5 euros). No life guard. It seemed smaller than it appeared in the online pictures (it is 10m) and it is outdoor (there is a sliding roof which was open). We had it to ourselves for nearly an hour.

Plenty of buffet breakfast, good selection, included in the room tariff.

We enjoyed our stay and it was excellent value.

Highly recommended.
