“Perfectly suitable hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2009

After reading the reviews prior to booking this hotel, I was a little concerned as to whether this would be appropriate or not, as although we did have a car (we drove from Portugal), we would also have our 3 year old with us. Anyway, I was really pleased with the hotel. We had a family room, with a large double bed and a single sofa bed. There was plenty of storage space and also space for my son to play on the floor with his toys as well. The bathroom was fine, with shower over the bath, also good for kids. There were various TV channels, something for all languages I think. There was a small fridge with the usual items, although these were quite expensive, we did use the fridge also for our own water. There was a safe in the room also. The air conditioning worked fine and was quiet, and there were plenty of power outlets.

The hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The last morning the hotel was really full, and I think they underestimated the amount of staff needed for breakfast that day, and so breakfast service was a little poor - running out of all the hot items, milk, coffee, juice, over the busiest period. All this was replaced in about 15 minutes, but if you were in a hurry, this may have been annoying. Besides that, the breakfast was very nice and had a good variety.

The hotel is not as far from town as people made out to be, it is less than 1.5km. I guess it depends on your willingness to walk, or if you enjoy walking. Right next to the hotel there is plenty of shopping, with a large shopping centre jusst around the corner, and about two blocks further along is El Corte Ingles. in the shopping centre around the corner, in the courtyard in the middle they had an area for kids, with trampolines (with safety harnesses) which was really cool, and €3 or similar. In this shopping centre is also McDonalds, TGI Friday's, Starbucks, Jamaica Coffee and 4 or 5 other eateries. Perfect for any "fussy" young eaters who might not be used to European food...? There is also a park and garden about 500 metres up the road, with swings and slides and a small climbing wall, etc.

There are a few restaurants around the hotel, over three or four blocks, but not really a huge choice. We walked quite a bit all three nights, and then the last night we ate in a tapas bar right next to the hotel - very good, but service was a little slow. In town, there are literally hundreds of restaurants, you'll have trouble choosing.

The reason for our trip was mainly to take our son to Isla Magica, and it was great. It is very close to the city, we drove, but you can easily catch a bus or take a taxi, it is about 5km from the hotel. There are bus stops and taxi stands right outside the hotel.

We also took a bus city tour but as our son fell asleep (!) we didn't do the hop on/hop off part, but just stayed on the whole trip. The round trip takes about an hour. It was really good too.

Seville is a beautiful city, and worth visiting. Probably not the best idea in the peak of summer, though, as it is really hot and will be full of people.

We stayed for two nights at this modern business-oriented hotel. It was during Feria de Abril, and we got a pretty good rate given the inflated hotel prices during this specific week. Our room was a standard contemporary design with all the essentials. The staff were generally friendly and English-proficient (probably because of the hotel's business orientation). The hotel is located in a financial and commercial section of the city, and there is a mall shopping center right behind it. The METRO is only a block away, and you can also take a bus right outside to the old quarter of Seville. The underground parking garage is spacious.

One issue is that there don't seem to be a lot of good restaurants in the area, although there are several nearby bars. The hotel has a restaurant (which we didn't try), and we were able to find a good restaurant a few blocks from the hotel. Also, if driving, make sure you have very specific directions. Although the hotel is on a major artery and should not be hard to find, we got thoroughly messed up trying to follow the directions received from the hotel. It would be helpful to have a detailed map of Seville before you go there.

This is a fine hotel very clean and with at good swimmingpool on the top floor. Good parking facility in the basement. We can absolutely recommend it. The gym is not worth to visit, very small and with only 3 machines and some free hand weigths. We didn't take the breakfast on the hotel - you can find good breakfast in many coffee shops on the streets. The walk to the old town takes about 10-15 min. (1,5 - 2,0 km). A better suggestion is to hire a bike, you can rent them on street corners in a automate, and bike to an other part of the city and leave the bike there. It is cheap and a very good way to see the city.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while touring in Spain. We did not have reservations, so it was a "walk in". The hotel has a nice lobby, and the room was spacious and comfortable. But the price...And they charge you for EVERYTHING...The location is a little far from the city center, but there is a bus right outside the front door. The staff was helpful, and spoke English. There are a few restaurants, and shops in the area.

Hotel is situated in-between a shopping district and a residential district. 10 mins walk from the main train station and 20 mins walk from central Sevilla. Easy bus access to city (pay on board) or a safe walk directly down street hotel is on. Behind the hotel is a shopping mall and further departments stores etc very close by. The Hotel is also directly beside the main Sevilla football ground so has excellent access to that but may be busy on match days? Also opposite the hotel is a yet to be opened underground / metro network to downtown. So when this does open will have very good transport links presumably soon?
Rooms are standard quality for Novotel and normal very limited English TV coverage. Pool on the roof is closed in winter months from November. Friendly helpful staff on front desk. Mini bar in room but no in room tea/coffee making facilities. Free safety deposit box which can be unusual in Spain (non chain hotels). Small residential shops opposite and a few restaurants and bars open nearby and directly below hotel. Good sized rooms.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in July 08. The location was not too bad to see the main sights. Not at a walking distance, but by taking a single quick bus outside the hotel, you would get in about 10 minutes or so to the central Seville attractions area.

The hotel has a rooftop pool which was very welcome during our 40 Celsius stay. Unfortunately all the other guests seemed to have the same idea and the small pool was completely overcrowded.

Right next to the hotel is a shopping mall which is not bad for its non-touristy food choices. Real sevillians live and eat there.

The rooms were on the 'older' side. So we've stayed at much better furnished novotels in Spain and France. The breakfast area was pretty good.

We were a family of 2 adults and an 8 year old who stayed here for one night.

The hotel is not far from the train station by taxi. Maybe 7 Euros. There are many bus lines near the hotel once you know which ones to take that go into town and back to the train station. The desk can tell you which ones to take and were very helpful.

Our rooms were not ready when we arrived 2 hours early but they stored our bags and we went into town from there. The old town of Sevilla is very nice and is worth a visit. But this hotel is a long ways from the old town. There is nothing scenic or fun about it's location.

The rooms were normal for a Novotel. We skipped the breakfast because they charged about twice what a normal Novotel charged. But we did hit the bar and they were very good and very nice.

The rooftop pool is about 2 meters wide and 15 meters long. More of a lap pool than a kid's splash around pool. It is also pretty deep. 1.40-1.60 meters. And it was freezing. We swam for about 20 minutes. Most people lasted maybe 10. I was not impressed by that.

If you have a reason to stay with the Acor line, this is a good hotel and I would recommend it. But for most people you should stay closer to the center of Sevilla if you are a tourist.

  • Liked — Nice and roomy hotel with modern facilities.
  • Disliked — Distance to city center.
