A bit tricky to find, though worth the effort. A grand old Seville mansion has been sympathetically converted to hotel use. Lovely feel to the place, with a large open intrn courtyard. Our room was large and very comfortable.
Staff were very courteous and helpful and included breakfast good.
It's located in a gorgeous part of the old town, in easy waking distance of the main sights of Sevilke

The Hotel Abanico is conveniently located in down town old-town Sevilla. We have a larger family (6) so we don't fit in just one cab, so we tend to walk wherever we go. Though it was about 20 or 25 minutes, the walk from the train station was manageable. The hotel was lovely with hand painted tiles all over the place, and had an absolutely scrumptious and ample breakfast. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and all are somewhat unique. Our two rooms were located near each other, but were each very differently decorated. Both were delightful and we can definitely recommend the venu for families who want a comfortable hotel close to the sights and restaurants of old town Sevilla!

Don't step out of the front door without looking!

The Abanico hotel was the perfect place for us to stay in Seville. The location was within walking distance of all the places we wished to visit. the only challenge during our stay was the the 8 month long drought broke on the day after we arrived, so our attitude and spirits were a little lower. Can't be helped!
We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children (aged 12 and 8) who stayed for 4 nights in late September (usually the perfect time to visit :-)) We took out a family room and we booked this direct with the hotel website to ensure we received the free breakfast that cost extra if you booked through other sites (this varies so check whats included on your preferred booking site and then compare to the Abanico website)
The family room, on the 2nd floor and up some windy stairs was clean and functional. A little noise every now and then from the side street. Don't expect any real views. The only downside is that the free wifi didn't find our hidden away room, so the kids and I resorted to the 2nd floor lounge area during times of massive torrential downpours.
Staff were exceptional and it was nice to see that the guests they attracted were also friendly and personable. I love it when strangers say "Good Morning, GutenTag or Buenos Dias" - that's the sort of homely difference you get when you stay in a family run smaller hotel! Like attracts like.
Breakfast was good, however it needed to be replenished a little faster/ Saying that, our family ate their fill every morning in relaxed environment. My only gripe is the massive slope in the floor - at times it felt like I was sliding on the deck of a ship during a heavy swell. (but it probably just the age and soil under the building - not a big fuss)
Rooms were cleaned very well every day. You can have a drink in the reception lounge and the front office staff are happy to help you in any way you need. Some great local restaurants and cervezeria's are a few minutes walk away. And a very cool "hole in the wall" bar is virtually opposite the hotel across the very busy at times street.
Watch the kids near the front door! Whoooooosh!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that still gets the free wifi, if that is important to you! Some of the rooms in the...

I stayed at Abanico for 5 nights and it was all good. The room and bathroom were a good size. Complimentary coffee etc and orange wine were available throughout the day & evening. I was given an information pack when I arrived and it had relevant info that I actually used.

The buffet breakfast may or may not be included in the room tariff - it depends on the conditions of your reservation. It was complimentary in my case. The variety and quality were quite good.

The hotel is located in the centre of the old city and the Catedral and Alcazar are a short walk away. The location is so central that I walked everywhere I wanted to go including the train station, the bus terminal at Prado San Sebastion, the bus stop for the aerobus as well as the tourism sites.

We booked two nights here at the end of a week-long holiday in the mountains. We arrived in pouring rain (after 7 months of dry weather!) and arrived like drowned rats. The receptionist couldn't have been nicer - while our room wasn't ready, we were invited to wait in the charmingly decorated inner courtyard and enjoy the (free) hot drinks available to all residents. Our room was soon ready and we were delighted with it - good size, very comfortable and clean and with really nice touches, such as a complimentary toiletries pack and useful information about Seville. The hotel is really well placed for the Cathedral and city centre, but feels one step removed from the bustle of the city. We loved it - staff were extremely friendly and helpful, sorting out a taxi for us to go to the airport and helping make our (damp) stay in Seville really enjoyable. Definitely recommended as a base for exploring Seville.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room so you don't overlook the street outside, which can be a bit noisy and busy...

We arrived as a trio and asked if they had a room for three. The desk clerk, Jose, could not have been any nicer. He offered suggestions on food and sight seeing in Seville. We were delighted to find this gem! Three beds in a VERY large room and bathroom (even by American standards). It was nicely decorated, clean and a convenient location in Seville. Just remember as you are leaving the hotel to LOOK LEFT! The exit door is so close to the street, you could easily step out in front of on coming traffic. At 65 euros/night (on a Sunday) for the three of us, I'd say this hotel can't be beat! Definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Our room was just behind the reception desk (can't remember room #) on the first floor. There a...
