If you like staying at Hiltons and Sheratons, don't come here. If like me you are looking for an excellent value, friendly, personal, clean and central hotel with lots of character and charm, then this is the one for you! Just spent 3 nights, and this was a real gem. Easy walking distance of the cathedral and Alcazar, 15 mins walk from the station so easy to get to Cordoba/ Granada etc. Based on an old house with central courtyard with overlooking balconies. Rooms clean and comfortable, and in a quiet location, and lots of bars, restaurants less than 5 mins walk away. Just be careful stepping outside the front door as the pavement is about 1foot wide! Highly recommended, would definitely stay there again.

Great open-air lobby. Bought a few bottles of their homemade wine which is a tasty treat. Breakfast was a nice bonus. Rooms are very "Seville". We got lost like 50 times walking around looking for the hotel but that's all part of the charm. Also, the hotel front doors open up to a somewhat busy alley which we affectionately called "death street" with a 1 foot curb but honestly, it really wasn't dangerous. Tip: pretty close to the hotel there is a large plaza that has a bar that has an incredible happy hour(s). 1 Euro beers and sangria which fills up the plaza and the people-watching is unreal.

We (my wife and myself) stayed at the Abanico, Seville in January 2012 for two nights. The Abanico was lovely. Great location in that it was central to most of the sights, in a safe area (all of Seville seemed really safe to me btw), close to some nice local (not touristy) and friendly bars/cafes and so on. If you need to get a taxi anywhere, there is also a taxi rank about 30 yards from the hotel.

The hotel was very welcoming with very friendly/helpful staff and the rooms (bedroom/bathroom) were spotlessly clean. Beds were made each day and we were provided with fresh clean towels on each of the two days we were there. We also appreciated the free coffee that is available virtually all day (from about 7.00am to 10.00pm or thereabouts).

We really enjoyed our weekend break in Seville. All the more so, due to our excellent stay at the Abanico. Great value for money and highly recommended.

it's a nice place. the family room we had (2 adults+2 teenagers) was nice and spacious. I didn't like the central controled A/C and therefor not beeing able to set the temprature I wanted to have, but it worked ok.

the patio/lobby is a beautiful tranquile place, comfortable armchairs. together with the free cafiteria it provided the early morning types among us a place to read peacefuly without disturbing the sleepers, and also a spot to relax between enterimg the hotel and getting to the room.

location is very good, central. breakfast is ok - no more no less. you must be fully awake leaving the hotel: the sidewalk is about 40 cm wide and it's a busy street. some nice pubs and cafe's down the street, Pilatus house near by in the street, very good good location.

Until 9am the morning of our departure this hotel was pretty hard to fault. It's beautifully decorated and calls to mind a Moroccan riad. The adorable man on reception insisted on whipping out a map and bombarding us with tourist info and top tips despite our only staying for one night. His recommendation for dinner was spot on. However everything went heavy machinery shaped when our much needed first-day-of-holiday-lie-in was shattered by a thunderous truck right outside our window. I'm not sure this hotel could ever be called quiet but this was beyond a joke and actually drove us out. Not the hotel's fault of course but worth bearing in mind.

Room Tip: As far from the road as possible!!!
