We had a "suite" with an exceptional dream view right onto the Cathedral and its Giralda.
It is a modern studio, very clean and comfortable, marble floor. The kitchen includes all necessary appliances, including washing machine and dish washer (washing powder is provided!).
Nice bathroom with great rain shower. Efficient wifi connection.
Although the street around the cathedral can get very busy, the sound proff windows do their job and the place is very quiet - and no issue with the cathedral's bells at night... you're more likely to hear them in the morning around 9 am.
Friendly staff, with a nice free pick-up service from the station when you book directly with them.

Great location, right in the heart of the city, very near the Cathedral. Apartment was not large, but very well appointed and equipped. WE would definitely stay there again, we had an air shaft view, but that meant we didn't get the noise form the precessions.

Two things about the Puerta Catedral Suites - 1. Location and 2. View. From what I understand there are two seperate Puerta Catedral properties- we stayed at the ones immediately across from the Cathedral ( when I say immediately across I mean immediatly across!!) with the rooftop terrace. The hotel is not accessible by car so you must be dropped off at the corner of the cathedral and walk about 100 yards to the hotel. The road in front of the hotel is a pedestrian thoroughfare/ trolley track. The trolley runs from the early hours of the morning to the wee hours at night and then stops. To enter the hotel you have a key, take about 6 steps to an elevator which reaches the main lobby and all the suite floors ( one suite on each floor.) The staff was immediately friendly and checked us in quickly. The suite was wonderful - a HUGE bedroom with King sized bed and private bathroom (my mom stayed there), a smaller bedroom with two beds situated head to head ( seemed perfect for children, but also worked for my two adult sisters) and a large futon-style mattress positioned in a nook corner of the living area, right next to the sliding glass doors to the very long balcony (where I slept- the futon, not the balcony, although I could have!) There was a large living room with a couch, a rocking chair and a modern glass dining table for 6 ( we ate dinner at "home " twice with the sliders opened, Flamenco music pouring in the windows from the street below), a lovely small kitchen with range top, large fridge, sink and clothes washing machine. And then - there is the view. When you draw back the curtains you can not even believe it is real - you are staring right at the facade of the cathedral! The statues of popes and angels and the virgin Mary all hanging out outside your widows! At night it is even more surreal and beautiful as they are illuminated and just gorgeous. If that view is not enough, you can head up to the roof terrace, part of which is covered, part uncovered with the same view of the cathedral in front and the setting sun behind. We bought bread, cheese and olives and took our local Semana Santa wine and had more than one sunset picnic up there - as well as more than a few siesta naps!) The first night on the terrace was a beautiful, free Flamenco guitar concert, with about 35 guests ( donations for the local and exceptional group suggested but not required.) The location could not be better - every site within walking distance, the Via in front of the hotel filled with shops, cafes, happy revelry and energy until late ( 2 am?) then perfectly silent until dawn. Sleep was good because the glass is sound proofed to some extent - even closed you can hear only the faint hum of the large crowd that plays on this popular street until late at night, but it was not enough to keep us awake. However each night at about 2 am the same person would run down the main street howling at the top of his lungs - and that did wake us up a few nights in a row, but then he must have moved on to another part of town. Thick drapes keep the light out - you have to be careful not to sleep in too late as you will think its night but it's 10 am! (or maybe that was the tinto rosso and getting to bed at 3 am - but either way, good drapes...) We opened the sliders wide in the morning as we got ready for the day - a whole host of entertainers (some charming, as was the Flamenco dancers and guitarists)- some unfortunately annoying as the accordian lady that knew only 3 songs and played them over and over for hours- and some downright creepy as was the chap dressed as a baby in a carriage that frightened passersby with his scream and horn every 10 minutes. But all kept it very interesting and made you realize you really were in the middle of it all!) The only negatives were: a bad smell coming from the 2nd bathroom at night and some aspects of the service. On arrival there was no smell, but the first night we smelled a sewage odor, coming from what we thought was the AC vent. When we awoke it was gone, but the next night it was back with a vengeance and we realized it was coming from the 2nd bathroom. The next morning we advised the staff and they said they would do something about it, but the next night it was there again. I went down and spoke with them, as it really was wretched, especially for my sisters in that adjoining room - she said the plumber was coming and would take care of it. That afternoon I checked and she said he had been there and it should be ok. But that night it was there again. It never did go away, any of the 6 nights we stayed there. With all suites full we ended up closing the door to the bathroom at night and airing the suite out during the day to make it better. Also, there is no daily cleaning service so we requested toilet paper. It was delivered the next day (a decent quantity!) But then the next day it was taken away again. When we could not figure out how to use the washing machine, the lady at the desk tried to tell us over the phone but we still couldn't get it so eventually the next day the cleaning lady came up and walked us through it in Spanish ( we don't speak Spanish but she eventually figured out how to start it, although we never did figure out how to get the detergent capsule to break or how to make the machine drain- and so the clothes were saturated with water and a bit moldy smelling. The room had drying racks so we used those round the room to dry the clothes. Great wifi reception, although it went down twice during our stay and an adorable little coffee bar in the lobby area that lets you have coffee whenever. It's definitely not a budget location and had a few very minor inconveniences, but with a location and an epic view of a lifetime, we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: I think all rooms face the cathedral, but if not, make sure yours does!

Modern apartment suites opposite the cathedral. Key operated entrance is a bit basic and obscure with a staircase/lift leading to the first floor reception and suites. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a nespresso machine for coffee and tea during the open hours of 9am to 8.30.The top floor terrace was open, offers great views but it is very small and the bar was closed which I presume only operates during the summer. The suites and clean, spacious and comfortable. Nicely decorated and good furnishings but the modern look leaves them feeling a bit spartan. The memory foam beds were comfortable but I find them too hot. A few coffee and tea sachets is all that is provided so be prepared for a trip to the supermarket. We had the apartment to ourselves but like other reviewers I think these are probably more suited for family sleeping rather than couples if you are sharing. If you stay here try a restaurant round the back of the cathedral called La Azotea which we thought was very good quality and value.

We were two couples traveling through the south of Spain and had a lovely few days at Puerta Catedral Suites. The Suite Superior would really suit a family better than two couples, because the master bedroom is much nicer than the other room. The second bedroom has two single beds arranged head to head in a line against one wall and we just moved them around though. (That couple got the better room at the next location!) Once we found a convenient min market, it was awesome having the kitchen to make breakfast. The Cathedral is directly in front of your living room window, it is actually too close to take in all the beauty! We liked the minimalist decor and relaxed style of this apartment. The airport transfer service was mandatory as we were checking in late, but it was actually great having a driver that knew the exact one way streets and alleyways to take to drop us off as close as possible with our big suitcases & hand us the keys afterhours.
I'd recommend this place to any friend headed to Sevilla.

Room Tip: Suite Superior would be best for a couple and two kids (or two other friends that each want their ow...
