Started with a tour of the Royal Palace and tapas bars in Sevilla, but the real heart of the tour was the farm visit to the Iberico pig producer, the olive oil producer, the cooking school and Sherry producers, topped off with restaurant visits to experience the fruits of their labours in Sevilla and Cordova.
The hotels we stayed at were special, quirky but very comfortable.
A fantastic introduction to Andalucia and for us - Spain.
The passion of the producers for their craft was infectious.
We had a great experience using Taste of Spain to visit a Iberico ham family farm outside of Aracena, Spain and eat at various restaurants in the area. The family was wonderful and staying in a home really offered us a chance to learn about local culture and, of course, food production. It was eye-opening to see what goes into producing extremely high quality food. We appreciated our tour guide through Aracena and had wonderful meals which were reserved for us ahead of time at places we may have never found ourselves. My only reservation was that we were asked to pay ahead of time for our trip with a credit card number which made us concerned it may have been a scam, but we were charged correctly and had no issues. My only suggestion would be to ensure safe payment through PayPal or something similar and to pay half up front to reserve and half closer to the trip.
My husband and I recently enjoyed a wonderful 5 day tour starting in Cordoba to the provinces of Jaen and Cordova focusing particularly on the production of top quality extra virgin olive oil. The tour included much more however – delicious Spanish cuisine and tapas, walking tours in historic cities and towns, great accommodation, and the expertise of our wonderful guide Sharon who translated for us. We visited 4 top olive estates and spoke with owners or managers who generously shared their experiences and gave us ideas for our olive business back home.
I highly recommend a Taste of Spain, the detailed documentation of our trip before hand and smooth execution each day, prompt responses to our questions and requests, and friendly and efficient guides, particularly Sharon, made the trip the highlight of our 3 week visit to Spain.
We took two tours from "A taste of Spain"
The first was a Tapas Bar tour on our first night which was perfect.
Sharon our guide took us to places we would never had found on our own
and provided a historical tour in between bars. The food and wine was of a very high standard and was a great start to the holiday.
The second was Iberico Ham tour about 75 mins drive out of Seville into the hills.
It was fascinating to see how the product is produced. Our guide Abel was very informative and provided good historical information during the journey.
We ended up having lunch on a farm with the owners Alfonso and Maria cooking for us
and it was the perfect end to the day.
When I booked with Taste of Spain, the communication was excellent and Miguel saw to every detail.
Thank you for making our vacation very special!
My husband and I absolutely love Spain and even more specifically its culinary offerings. We had visited Spain before and fell in love with the Iberico Ham. We wanted to learn more and found A Taste of Spain's Iberico Ham tour. Our tour was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Our driver and guide picked us up at our hotel and drove us to an Iberico Ham factory for an informative tour and delicious tasting. We then drove to a farm to visit the pigs and enjoyed a wonderful lunch with the farm owners. Our guide and the farmers were kind, engaging and knowledgable. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend it!!!
My daughter and I wanted one of our days in Sevilla to be relaxed and centered on Andalusian cooking. A friend recommended A Taste of Spain to set it up. They arranged a lovely morning with Oscar and Miguel at their lovely cooking space, KOK, in the Macarena neighborhood. They took us marketing, cooked a huge meal, explaining everything, and let us help some. We learned a lot, we ate and drank well, and we loved spending time talking about food, growing up in different parts of Spain, politics, and everything in between. It is a pricey experience but we felt it was worth the splurge. Thank you to Taste of Spain. It was exactly what we were looking for.
