If you like electic fusion cooking and you are tired of the touristy jamon and sangria, this place is for you. Blissfully slightly off the beaten track, La Mojigata is still close to the cathedral.
The service is friendly, personable and you can sit outside in a quiet little street free of annoying street musicians and beggars. There's no menu, as they use fresh different ingredients all the time, constantly re-inventing. They will chat with you explaining what they have on the day, how they prepare it and how it will be served.
Ask away, the explanations of their cooking inventions are informative and charming. Everything is fresh, different and made on the premises with creativity and even irony. The small grilled sardine tapa was to die for, the pate served like a toy mini hot dog very kawaii and the homely re-invention of potatoes with egg and mushroom hearty, satisfying and fun.
The desserts yummy, home made, fresh reinventions of Spanish childhood classics, a fun idea.
We both couldn't drink alcohol so he bill came at a mere 30 euros for a meal that was also an experience, very cheap.
I would defintetly recommend it, especially to a urban, adventurous, eclectic type.
Modern decor, napkins in pencil holders, a surprise in the bathroom.

Very Creative tapas, not that expensive (the wine is great and very good value for price too).
The only downside of this restaurant is that, due to the creativity, some of the Tapas are either very small : for example, we ate a marvelous Sardina (pilchard), grilled in front of us but there were not enough to eat...
I would recommend the potato crushed with a low-temperature-cooked egg with onions and truffle oil, it is absolutely fabulous!
The owner is very nice and helpful, the place itself is also full of nice decoration and original creation...
Go there and try!

After all the excellent Trip Advisor reviews we had to give Mojigata a try. It proved to be one of the best meals we had during our two week holiday in Southern Spain. A little off the tourist track, we got there a little early around 8:30 to secure a table. We asked our server who seemed to own the restaurant to choose 5 tapas for us....he first brought out sardines roasted fireside and topped with smoke infused olive oil....one word..DELICIOUS. Then he brought out a tomato bomb in the form of cotton candy-this was our least favorite but the best presentation. Ferrer Roche cheese balls with popcorn garnache was next-could have eaten 4 more plates of this. We then had the potatoe mousse and the foie gras hot dock. All in all an amazing modern take on tapas that could have cost three times more in the U.S. Also try their house Albarino Wine.

A real find. We had an evening of great wine and fantastic tapas in this quirky little restaurant.
Couldn't believe the bill when it came.. Tapas for 3 & 6 glasses of lovely wine for under €40!
We left all the choices to the owner who didn't let us down or rip us off.. Highly recommend!
