“Perfect complement to our stay in Sevilla”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

My friend and I spent 2 of our 4 days in Sevilla with Roger from AQOT.
Our first day began with a walk through the local market. This was followed by a cooking class with Willy from a local restaurant, Poncio. Fantastic on all counts, great morning in the kitchen and even better when we got to taste. The food was so good that we returned to Poncio for tapas on 2 more occasions.
To complete this day we did a tapas crawl with Roger in the evening. Roger's knowledge of tapas and his selection of bars was outstanding. We got to sample a great variety of delicious tapas and some wonderful wines. Didn't want it to end.
The next day we met Roger again for a day trip to beautiful Jerez. We toured 2 bodegas and Roger introduced us to the delights of sherry. Our morning in Jerez finished with lunch, yet another great choice by Roger.
In hindsight I would have loved to have had time to include Jamon tour as well. Will have to be next time.
Can only give the highest recommendation.

“Roger does it again!!”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

This was my second trip to Spain, and once again I used "A Question of Taste Day Tours". We did two tours with Roger in 2010, and that was our best time in Spain. We were so excited to see Roger again and this time we also did two day tours. It was wonderful!! We met the most interesting people had wonderful adventures and the food was.....awesome. We learned so much and it was great to talk with someone who knows all about the area and loves food and wine. I also wanted to take a Flamenco dance class with a professional teacher and I did not know how to make this happen. Well just mention something to Roger and he will do his best make it happen. He is such a nice guy and he has a network of people he works with. If you travel to Seville and want to explore around this area don't miss out. Contact Roger at "A Question of Taste Day Tours".

“Great tour guide”
Reviewed September 29, 2013 via mobile

Roger who runs and own this tour service is the most knowledgable person we've ever met when it comes to food and wine. Not just in Spain. He took us 2 days of touring in the Seville area of Spain. He took us to watch Sherry, olive oil and cheese making. He also covered general tours of Cadiz, Rondo and Jerez. He took us to a Market, a couple of great restaurants, and other sites.

He explained what we saw with great clarity and definitely knew what he was talking about. We enjoyed both of our days with him and would highly recommend him to others.

“Tour of the white hill towns”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

I really wanted to do a day trip to the white hill towns around Seville, but I worried that it might be difficult to rent a car and do the driving ourselves. So, we hired Roger, and it was a great decision. He took us to the olive oil mill and several of the towns, including Ronda, where we had a delicious lunch. He was fun and interesting to talk to, and he gave us lots of information and insights about Spain and the region we were visiting. The private tour wasn't cheap, but it was definitely worth it.

“An Unforgetable Day”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

We signed up for a gourmet tour of Ronda and its regions and were not disappointed. Our first stop was Molino el Vinculo where we were shown the workings of an olive oil mill and offered delicious tastings of the product. The mill is in Zahara de la Sierra - incredibly beautiful countryside.
Next stop Chinchilla. This is a modern vineyard producing superb wines. We were given a tour of the vineyard and winery and then treated to gourmet food to accompany their delicious range of wines.
Our gourmet lunch was in Ronda at Tragatapas. It was taste sensation and voted the best lunch of our entire three weeks in Spain and Portugal.

The menu?

Salmon marinated in vanilla with lime zest, roe, yoghurt and sesame seeds

Raf tomatoes with tuna belly and sweet onions

Tuna sashimi

Asparagus cooked on a griddle with coarse Dijon mustard

And there were wines on offer to complement our dishes. Brilliant!

Ronda is a beautiful town straddling a river and deep gorge. We had a short tour of the area and then sadly headed for Seville. This was one of the best day tours I have ever taken. Our host Roger Davies was the perfect guide. He mixed extensive knowledge with just the right personal touches and was so very easy to talk and laugh with. I would definitely recommend booking a tour with A Question of Taste when you are next in Andalusia.
