This is not a five star hotel and doesn't pretend to be. However, it is well priced for a hotel in the middle of the Santa Cruz pedestrian precinct. If you are coming by bus from the airport (4 euros), get off at the Prado stop and it is a 700 metre walk to the hotel.

The standard rooms are just that. Most rooms have a view of concrete walls opposite. If you want a room with a view request one of the superior rooms which overlook the narrow pedestrian street at the front of the hotel. The standard rooms are clean and functional, and the beds are comfortable. Rooms are air conditioned. The free wifi seems to work well in the rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Breakfast covers cereal, yoghurt, breads, meat, cheese, juice and more than satisfies the content all breakfast standard. The terrace bar on top of the hotel is a great place to relax after the sun goes down. There is a tapas bar just outside the hotel and a huge range of restaurants within a 500 metre radius. Similarly, the main tourist sights are within a ten minute walk.

Room Tip: The superior rooms facing the pedestrian street at the front of the hotel offer better ambience that...

Well, let me be honest - location is 5, lobby décor - 5, breakfast - good 4 and the rest is bad. Once you leave the beautiful lobby with ornate doors, cathedral ceilings, knights armour, etc. you see a big difference. Its like travelling in time to the 80s - dark narrow bad lit hallways with stained carpets, cheap laminate, dusty drapes. Walls are made of paper plus all the noise from the nearby restaurants.
Yuk! I wouldn't stay there again!

Myself and friend stayed in this hotel for one night. The location of this hotel is amazing! It's less than a five minute walk from the Cathedral and the Alcazar and it's in the middle of one of the prettiest areas of the city, Santa Cruz. There is also a lovely little tapas bar immediately in front of the hotel which creates a great atmosphere. The hotel staff were nice and quite helpful. The room was basic but clean. The Wi-Fi is free but very patchy and unreliable. The breakfast buffet the next morning was good - of course, the orange juice was a highlight! My only real problem with this hotel was the instructions (or lack thereof) regarding parking. A couple of weeks before we went, I emailed the hotel to ask about parking. They told me there was no parking at the hotel but that they had reserved a space for me at an underground car park nearby. The email said to come to reception on the day where they would explain where the car park was. I assumed that meant that we could drive to the hotel, maybe park outside on the street for a few minutes and then go to the car park. They did not explain to me that the hotel is in the middle of a completely pedestrianised area. Even when I rang the hotel on the day to ask for directions, this was not explained to us. Myself and my friend spent over an hour driving around the one-way system in Seville before we were told to just go straight to the car park. And, as it turned out, there was no space reserved - we just had to take our chances on there being one available. Although this was frustrating, it did not take away from the overall experience of the hotel which was very good. I would recommend it as an excellent option if you are on a budget. Just don't drive to Seville!

We recently traveled to Spain and one of our stops was the Hotel Murillo in Sevilla. This hotel was in a great location, convenient walking distance to The Alcazar as well as The Cathedral. The hotel is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. We paid for the upgraded room with a balcony which we felt was worth the price. The rooms are somewhat small but comfortable. The rooftop terrace is a good spot to unwind and they make some killer mojitos! We didn't eat the breakfast buffet at the hotel because there are plenty of cafes in the area which have better prices and variety. However, we did happen to wake up early one morning and they had coffee and pastries, for free, in the lobby which was a nice treat. Overall, this hotel was a wonderful stop on our 7 city tour of Spain!

We are here at present. Did a booking in the morning and the hotel seemed nice. When arrived it looked really good. Right away when registering in with a friend started the problems. The staff went to discuss in private and after a while came back to tell that they would show us our room which was going to be in another building than the reception. That seemed ok since we knew that they had rooms like that. When we were escorted to the other building we noticed that it was really a different hotel, or in fact not a hotel but a hostel. With no hesitation the clerk was going to place us in there. I stopped him and told him that we could stay at this other hotel too but I checked that hotel earlier and it was half the price than the one we really booked. I told that this was not what we booked and paid for in advance also. Then he just took us back to Murillo and suddenly they had a room for us there as suopposed in the first place. There was no apologies or such and this left us with a really bad taste of the hotel. I would never suggest any one to book a room in this hotel. It seemed so clear that they tried to scam us. There are plenty of other hotels in the are too propably operating honestly.

We stayed one night. It was the perfect location to walk to the Cathedral and other sights.
We paid for parking and the car was in a private area of the garage- and our wind shield was cleaned by the hotel staff before our departure. What a pleasant surprise! The festivals were happening and we would most likely come the next time at a more quiet time of year. The breakfast was lovely. Our room was near an elevator and still relatively quiet. it's size was small but adequate. You receive a free drink on the bar on the roof. We sat up there and could hardly leave, it was so lovely. The wifi worked great in our room.

Room Tip: Someone mentioned having a balcony. That might be lovely

Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Murillo. The reception area is beautiful and a good place to hang out. Our room was small and the bathroom was tiny. But for two nights it was just fine. Worth trading space for the great location. The reception staff were very helpful. The Flamenco show they recommended (Los Galos) was awesome. I would definitely recommend this quaint Hotel in Seville.

Room Tip: Worth enquiring about the apartments. They might be bigger?
