We started off badly at this hotel, as after some waiting we were shown to a room with very little natural light. After complaining we were given a pleasant room with lots of light. We then began to enjoy the hotel. Firstly it is brilliantly situated right in the middle of the Barrio Santa Cruz, only a very short walk to the Cathedral and the Alcazar, which are both magnificent. There are lots of reasonably priced tapas bars around. Secondly the staff were friendly and helpful; in particular at the roof terrace bar which has stunning views of the Cathedral. The breakfasts are really good for such a hotel. We had a great stay.

Let me start by saying i have been in many cities and i normaly stay 3 or 4*. The Hotel Murillo is only 2* and the only reason i can see for this is the rooms some i belive are small however our room was a good size and the bathroom had a bath/shower combo which pleased my wife as we removed our bath and replaced it with a shower, water was allways hot {morring and evening}. We were at the back of the hotel so no balcony however we had a window over looking a small courtyard with air conditioning units below as we were on the 4th floor so no view not a big issue for us as we dont go away to sit in a room! Breakfast did not have the selection you would find in a 3 of 4* however it had all that we required bacon,scrambled eggs,bread for toast,breadrolls {brown and white},cereals,yogart,fruit and tea and coffee making machine,Exterior and interior looked like it was only painted yesterday and great interior furnature, We arrived early {before 12pm} and room was not ready however left luggage with reception so no problems staff were very friendly and helpfull, The rooftop bar "NOT TO BE MISSED" great place to finnish off you day.Bar Patanchon not to be missed for its great tapas {fried camembert with raspberry sauce to die for!}.Had a wonderfull time in Seville and will return{soon i hope} and i will return to the Hotel Murillo great value for money 10/10. {forgot to mention wife said this hotel has the softest towels she ever got in a hotel}

From Prado san sebastian( bus station) look towards the centre.There is a large roundabout with fountain.Cross this road and enter the Jardines de Murillo on your right which run around the walls of Real Alcazar, turn left at the end of teh walls up some steps and walk striaght ahead into a small alley which bends left and right. Murillo is on right.
Very good hoytel, rooma ample, cleaned daily, breakfast more than adequate and is within easy walking of all major sights

Room Tip: We stayed in 301 which was above a street bar but with windows shut never heard a thing.

A brilliant welcome from the wonderful Davide got our visit off to an excellent start. Great location, wonderful room with balcony overlooking the tiny allyways and bar (ask for rooms 215-219). Last time we commented that the wine on the amazing rooftop terrace and the breakfasts could be improved. This time the wine was lovely and tapas are now served too. I think the breakfasts were slightly better too although personally I would prefer a greater range of pastries and nicer jams/marmalades plus the coffee from the machine isn't great. Also last time we had a bath and this time only a shower (212) which really needed new grouting/sealant as it was black. A mirror and drawers in the main room are needed too. But we'd still stay here again next year when we're back - location, views and staff can't be beaten!

Room Tip: 215 - 218 overlook the bar opposite. We like listening to the tourists going past but if you want a quieter room ask for an interior one.

My wife and I found this a very pleasant, clean, very well located hotel to explore Seville. The room was a good size, and the value was excellent. The staff was helpful and pleasant, and came up with creative solutions- for example, the hotel has an ice machine but oddly no ice buckets in the rooms; when I asked for something to carry the ice they came up with two bowels. A minor quibble, as was the fact that they don't seem to have the individually sized pillows that we're used to- rather there was one very long pillow across the top of the bed for both of us; however the staff was happy to give us a second one, as my wife and I tend to use our pillows differently (I scrunch mine a lot more than she does! ;) A bit of advice- it is not possible to drive one's luggage to the hotel, as the entrance is on one of the many tiny narrow streets-really alleyways- in the historic Santa Cruz neighborhood. So one should plan how to transport the luggage from the closest point, before going to a parking garage a distance away, and then reversing the process when you leave. I figured it out, but I would recommend asking the hotel's help in getting better directions on how to accomplish this. Nevertheless, this was a pleasant stay in a very fine location for seeing the historic city, the Alcazar, and the Cathedral. There is also a nice terrace bar on the roof, with a lovely view of the lighted Cathedral at night.
