“Good long term stay”

Staying there for business for nearly three weeks. Had to change a room due to technical reasons (heating was not working well) but it was solved to full satisfaction. The rooms are designed truly to the needs of travellers. Spacious, well managed, Especially handy is the closet openable from the corridor as well as from bathroom. Good selection on breakfast buffet. Nice and friendly staff at the lounge bar. Especially Macareno :-)

Stayed for 5 nights and booked a Level room. On check in you can bypass the reception and check in at the Level. Our room wasn't quite ready but we were checked in, our luggage stored and invited to use the facilities of the Level. When our room became available our luggage was sent ahead. The room was spacious, modern with everything you would need, we had a terrace which had 2 sun beds and a table & chairs, the only downside was that at 35degrees and no shade it was a bit too hot to sit there!! The staff at the level were friendly, professional and attentive. In my opinion a real credit to the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble & they all certainly made you feel very welcome. We had breakfast each morning in the Level, although the option to go into the main restaurant was there, each morning we were the only ones there and there was plenty of choice and the breakfast option was perfect for me. It was also nice to come back in the afternoon for a drink & snack before heading out again into the wonderful city that is seville.
It's about a 10-15 min walk into the main city, or you can get the tram €1.40 per single trip from Bernardo or San Sebastián station (the hotel is located between these two stations) there are loads of lovely tapas bars to choose from and everything is very easily accessible on foot.

Superb breakfast with plenty of choice
if you pay extra for THE LEVEL ensure that the advantages are explained at the start of your trip rather than at the end.
If you go for a birthday celebration , there is a lovely surprise awaiting you .

We were here for a mini honeymoon break and the hotel did a brilliant job by giving us an amazing room on the 11th floor with a fantastic view of Seville. And to top it off, champagne and chocolates. We booked the room via the hotel website so got an excellent deal that also included 10 euros credit per night to spend on food and drink. The hotel is close to the amazingly beautiful Plaza Espagna and everything else on the to-do list was only a few minutes away. The airport bus drops you off 7 min away from the hotel at St. Bernardo. The hotel bathroom is ultra modern and the rain shower is fantastic! Highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel.
Melia Sevilla is situated opposite of Plaza de España and not very far away from the (busy) city center. The hotel is a good base for people who wants to see the city but not want to stay in the busy city center. Unlike a few other people say on this site you can easily reach the center by walk (15 min) if you are a normal healthy person.
The hotel is more or less a business hotel and therefore not very cosy. The building really needs maintenance from the outside and looks shabby. The interior and the rooms of the hotel are modern, clean and comfortable. I have chosen this hotel because of the outdoor swimming pool. Unfortunately the pool was closed due to renovation. This was not mentioned on the internetsite of the hotel and personally I think this is a faux pas. Why renovate a swimming pool in September with 30 degrees celcius?
The spa is a rip off. The area is extremely dark (no light but candles) and needs maintenance but they probably try to hide this. The facilities in the spa are poor. In short: expensive and not worth the money.

Airport bus and railway station
You can take a special bus (Busline EA) from the airport to the center of Sevilla (cheap!). For the Melia Sevilla get of at Calle Enramadilla. You can buy a ticket in the bus. Taxis are not expensive too in Sevilla.
Sevilla Santa Justa (the main Railway station in Sevilla) is just 7 minutes away from the hotel by taxi. If you want to travel by train in Andalucia, do not forget to book your tickets in advance on the internet (http://www.renfe.es). This is cheaper than buying last minute. I would not recommend people to rent a car for transport in Sevilla. The center has a lot of small streets and there is a lot of traffic.

Must see in Sevilla
- the Real Alcazar (beautiful old palace with nice gardens)
- the Cathedral (big and pompous with the mausoleum of Columbus)
- Plaza de España
- Iglesia de San Salvador (very very pompous but fanatstic to see)
- Casa de Pilatos (very old house of a noble family with nice patios)
- the little streets in the city center

Nice to see in Sevilla
- Plaza de Toros
- Metropol Parasol

I really like Melia & Sol hotels and have stayed in dozens over the years and the Melia Sevilla is quite good too. It has good facilities and is located not too far from the City centre a 20/25 minute stroll or a quick hop on the tram. However the hotel is lacking atmosphere and is a little soul-less, it definitely feels more corporate than geared for leisure travellers.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights from the 30th September the hotel rate was booked direct and was a guarantee, i.e. no cancellations allowed. We were on a tour of Spain and had highlighted this hotel where we could combine some sightseeing with a little relaxation and sunbathing.

Unfortunately the pool was closed and the sunbathing area cordoned off, the sign saying that the pool was closed was a manufactured sign thus telling me that the work had been going on for some time (although no work was carried out while we were there). If we had been told that this was the case we would have selected another hotel and if we had not booked with the guaranteed rate we would have checked out and found an alternative with pool.

We were not impressed by this poor practice from a hotel group I have previously been more than impressed with!

Nice stay here for 3 days. Wonderful reception staff, seamless check in. Room clean and well appointed. The main hotel is a little tired and could do with a make over. It is located at the far corner of park Maria Louisa, which is a little out of town but a pleasant walk in.
