What a find just next to the plaza de espana - lovely modern rooms, free wifi, large spacious pool area and friendly reception.

We just booked a standard room but it was plenty big enough with a very modern bathroom. We were put in a smoking room because we didn't specifically specify, it wasn't actually that bad but if you have a preference make sure you say.

The pool area was so nice to come back to after a hot day sightseeing, some days there were limited beds so we aimed to get there by 3ish. Towels provided. Could have spent all day looking out of the Plaza.

We had room only, good little cafes for breakfast near hotel. We also booked through the Melia website & got 10euros off per night to spend in hotel on drinks at checkout. Was a lovely extra.

Would most definitely recommend this hotel- 15 min walk to cathedral, great rooms & v reasonably priced.

We stayed two nights at the Melia, Seville, as part of a tour and were delighted as it was a short walk from the Plaza de Espana. At night the plaza is beautifully lit and provided a lot of photographic opportunities. Although there are probably hotels closer to the old part of Seville they are probably much more expensive, and we did not find the location of the Melia a big disadvantage as we enjoyed walking the 20 minutes or so into the old part of Seville and having dinner in one of the plazas around the cathedral and walking around the Jewish quarters each evening. The hotel is close to public transport if you'd prefer to take a tram :)

The best things about the Melia were the location, the price, the rooms which were clean and generous, and the staff who were very helpful. We had breakfast each morning and there was a good selection and quantity of items and efficient service. I'd definitely recommend this hotel for those who are looking to do some amazing photography at night at the Plaza de Espana, and want a well-priced, comfortable hotel.

I had a great stay at the Melia. The room was contemporary in style and very clean and the pool area provided a welcome escape from the afternoon heat. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. I booked a thermal circuit session and massage at the spa which was excellent. The hotel is well located next to the Plaza Espana and public transit - metro and bus which go to the airport, major sites and the town center. The Real Alcazar and Cathedral are within walking distance (20 min) but in the heat of the summer this may be too far for some. I also highly recommend the chocolate cake from the blue lounge it was decadent and delicious!

Enjoyed our 3 night stay here and glad that we took a Club Level junior suite. A most excellent room with Club facilities, although these need to be upgraded a little. Very helpful staff and a most splendid breakfast every day. Reasonably convenient with a tram stop not far away taking you straight into town in a few minutes.

Room Tip: Choose a Club Level junior suite if you can afford it.

Seville is a superb city. So you don't really want to stew in a hotel. But it is also a very hot city so having a pool is just such a treat. Hotel is fine - clean, comfortable, nice fittings, friendly efficient staff. Location ok - near the park and not too far to potter into town or along the river - plus always taxis outside if you would rather not walk. But the pool is the best thing about it - sunshine until the late evening and very nice to refresh before heading back out.

Our first stop in Spain was at Melia Sevilla. When we arrived at the hotel the bell boy was busy with another customer and nobody was at the front door to greet us. We moved our luggage to the lobby that is positioned to the right of the hotel and checked in. Apparently a man followed us into the hotel and stalked us for the duration of the check in process. He stole my husbands brief case right in the lobby when I stepped away for ONE second.(we were able to view this on the hotel video) The hotel assisted us in filing a police report but, that was about it. They said that their insurance would not cover the cost of the brief case or the contents. Melia Sevilla did not offer a free nights stay... a free drink...NOTHING! I recommend you stay at another hotel that has better security and that is willing to take better care of their customers. Kathy R.
