Another wonderful stay in the hotel with the best location in Seville. The hotel lobby has been refurbished since our last visit and they have done a wonderful job of modernising yet keeping faithful to the orginal style.

We had to move rooms as the first kind of fell apart around us, but these things do happen and they handled it very well. Second room was up to normal standards and very pleasant.

They are one of the few places to have a pool in downtown Seville. But, it is really a plunge pool where you can do about 3 strokes from one end to another. A family were there when we visited and I swear Mom thought she was training the next Olympic champion. Standing on the side screaming instructions about breathing techniques - and oblivious to the glares from all other guests. Otherwise it is a wonderful place to chill, sip a cool drink, and look up at all those hot people who walked to the top of the tower and are jealously waving down at you.

Located right next to the Cathedral, the hotel has a fantastic view from its (small) rooftop pool. Main downside is the dated nature of the rooms. Also, unfortunately had a room that smelt like cigarette smoke.

We were so excited about staying at the Dona Maria. It is a historical building and you couldn't ask for a better location. Two reasons I did not give it a "5 star" review. First, it is almost impossible to find it by car so I highly recommend finding a public parking garage and walking to it. The hotel is located across from the Seville Cathedral/Giralda Bell Tower so once you get to the bell tower, just look around for the sign. Secondly, while the hotel is grand and has lovely antiques and appointments, it is in dire need of renovation and updates. The carpets are very old as were the curtains and the bathrooms. However, what it lacked in modern elements, the hotel made up for it with the location, pleasant staff and the roof-top bar and pool. The pool was a bit small, but was a welcome relief during the midday heat. Also, we were greeted in our room by a porter with a bottle of sherry for both of our rooms which was a lovely touch. I would recommend this hotel because of the excellent location and if they undergo any renovations in the near future, this will be a super great hotel!

In our room (122) we had cockroaches the size of pea pods in the bathroom, ants in our bed and a very noisy air con which spread a very unpleasant smell in the room, but we had to have it turned on because the room had no windows!
Imagine that: a 4 star hotel putting their guests up in a cell like that.
NOT to be recommended in spite of nice location and friendly staff.

Room Tip: Stay away from this hotel.

We stayed in Sevilla for 3 nights in this hotel. I can only highly recommend it to you! Some ppl here were complaining that's noisy- our room was by the side of the restaurants- street and we really didn't hear anything! Rooms are really lovely, with a lot of charm. A perfect hotel for romantic- vacation :-) great swimming pool - and here only one negative remark- they close it at 8 p.m.- in our opinion this was a little bit to early. Service really perfect, helpful and very friendly. We were all happy :-)
If I ever come again to Sevilla- I'll be staying there for sure :-))))
