We (4 girlfriends) booked 2 rooms through booking.com. Apparently they had not informed the hotel that we needed rooms with 2 separate beds. After first having been given 2 connecting rooms with king size beds, reception staff went out of their way to accomodate us but we ended up in 2 rather small rooms overlooking an inside patio. This meant we did not have a clue in the morning on how to dress, since there was no view to the outside to check the weather. (As it was, we had 2 days of rather heavy rain.) About Hotel Becquer we liked: the friendly staff, the breakfast tray at 5 in the morning (early plane to catch), the elaborate breakfast buffets, the excellent location, the extreme cleanliness, the bathroom, the coffee/tea facilities in the room, the vault in the room. Did not like: the location of the rooms, the fact that the bar was closed the whole time of our stay, the fact that we could not adjust the airco in the room (it was way too hot to sleep comfortably but airco is centrally adjusted). This could be a problem in summertime. We just looooooooooooooved Sevilla! Tip: watch a flamenco show at Museo del baile flamenco. You'll be blown away!

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with street view. If you're a group of friends, be careful you don'...

We stayed here from 16 Feb.-20 Feb.2013.What can I say about Hotel Becquer?

First, the city of Seville itself. It's a beautiful city, but also a very sad place.Very bad service, bad public transport, overpriced tourist restaurants and not-so-friendly people. We decided on staying in Seville because all the tour guides and people always have rave reviews. As a regular traveler around the world,I found Seville...mmm... rather mundane!Same old, same old.Same old "tourist orientated"restaurants and shops.Nothing exciting.Honestly,if you want to see the beautiful cathedral,do it in a day trip or a 2 day overnight trip.

There are some highlights though.Santa Cruz Barrio with it's winding streets, plazas and coffee shops.Quite a nice place. We found some nice restaurants here.

Back to Hotel Bequer. We were promised free wi-fi,which we got.In the 5 days we stayed here,it worked 2 out of the 5.We complained, shoulders were shrug and yes alas still no wi-fi.Pathetic for a 4 star hotel!!

The location was quite good, not to far from the cathedral or the main tourist attractions. There were many supermarkets and restaurants in this area.

We did our laundry at a place called Lavanderia Roma.At €6.00 per bundle,it was quite cheap.Follow Calle Zaragoza all the way down to Calle Castelar #2.Friendly service in English.

The room was quite spacious, but the room decor was quite boring. The beds were very comfortable. They had a pillow menu, which was quite nice. The bathroom was nice and clean. The room had tea and coffee making facilities, which is a big plus.

In the 5 days we've stayed here they never replenished the bathroom amenities or the coffee/tea.This is not a backpacker hotel, but a 4 star establishment!!Very sad!

Our room price also included breakfast. It was a solemn affair. The buffet spread was very nice, but pre-recorded bird chirping on repeat isn't quite what I expected. The fellow guests were mainly retired British and French tourists staring us down like we just got arrested for shoplifting in a candy store.Enough to give you bad indigestion.

During our stay, they were busy refurbishing the solarium(sun deck)as well as the restaurant.Pneumatic drills early in the morning and fake bird chirping on repeat in the restaurant....

My final verdict:rather stay somewhere else.Hotel Beqcuer is stuck in time in a bygone era.It hasn't quite caught up with the 21st century.Sorry Hotel Becquer, you didn't quite live up to your 4 stars.I won't return.

Good location, within a walking distance from the main attractions and the room was very quiet. Good room, nice bathroom, excelent breakfast for a reasonable price (11 euros). Staff at the front desk is very helpful. Definetely I recommend and would stay there again.

My family stayed at the Hotel Becquer one night. We had adjoining rooms with a door between. The rooms were extremely nice and the beds very comfortable. One excellent feature was double windows and doors to keep out the street and bathroom/hallway noise. The rooms were exceptionally quiet. The whole property is immaculately maintained and the staff was exceptionally friendly and efficient. We did not make advance reservations, so we got the last minute price (about 80 euros), which was very reasonable. The only downside to this was their parking garage was already full. We parked a couple blocks away at a very nice public parking garage, to which they gave us directions. Obviously, you wouldn't want to do this in the busy season, but it was no problem in February. One breakfast was included with each room. The extra breakfast was 10 euros. This was a great buffet with a wide variety of items for any taste. Quality of the food was very high. The hotel is a five to ten minute walk from major sights such as the Alcazar and Giralda. There are also numerous very good restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk from the hotel. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Seville.

If you want a centrally located Hotel with excellent sized rooms and great value then this one is perfect. Room size was way above the normal for a City centre hotel and was well equipped and clean. For the healthy ones there is a pool and Spa - staff were very polite & efficient.

We have just returned from a four night stay at Hotel Becquer. We chose this hotel after looking at trip advisor reviews and were not disapointed. The hotel is in an excellent location for visiting all the tourist sites as well as great bars and restaurants where it was easy to find good food and drink to suit, whether this be local tapas/ cuisine or fast food! It is near to the river where we enjoyed walking and sitting in beautiful sunshine!! Our room (610) was a good size, very clean with a very nice bathroom. The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide selection of hot and cold savoury food, as well as pastries, cakes, fruit etc , all topped up regularly by the hotels staff who were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Hotel Becquer to those looking for an excellent, reasonably priced hotel in this lovely city.

We chose this hotel from the recommendations on TA and were very well pleased. We needed car parking with a central location and Hotel Becquer fitted the bill admirably. Car parking in central Seville is not easy and relatively expensive. This hotel offers on site valet parking: you just park right outside, go to reception to check in, hand over your car keys and they take care of the rest. At 15 euros for 24 hours it is very good value made more so because the hotel were content for us to leave the car in their car park well beyond the allocated time.
We booked through the hotel website and got excellent value.
Reception were very courteous and helpful giving us a map with recommendations for the sights and to eat.
The room was an 'exterior' one with a small balcony which overlooked Reyes Catolicos street . We were not affected by any street noise and the room was very comfortable and spacious.
The location is excellent, within 5/10 minutes walk of the Cathedral and Alcazar.
I highly recommend Hotel Becquer and will certainly stay there again on our next visit to Seville.

Room Tip: An 'exterior' room would be my choice
