We found an online deal for this hotel last minute when we wanted a hotel that had air conditioning for good value. So we cancelled our booking closer to the attractions but weren't disappointed! The staff as soon as we arrived took great care of us and went way out of their way to help us - with bags, directions, things for our room. Even little things like bringing us snacks and helping us with our one year-old was mind-blowing! They didn't have to do anything but the job they're paid to do, but they did a whole lot more. The breakfast which came in our deal was amazing and yummy and again, they catered to our little one. Every time I asked for directions, they gave me another map (I had about 7 by the end) with pinpoint directions. The room was clean and cool in a super hot summer. It's only a 10 minute walk to the closest touristy things. And it was ridiculously cheap! I highly highly recommend!

As the title states, this hotel is well placed for a short walk to the centre of Seville's sights.
Hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was especially good.
Breakfast server went out of her way to provide extra service and smiles.

Pleasant hotel with warm staff. Easy walk to attractions. Breakfast selection was large and tasty.
Room was quite adequate. We were low next to the street but had no trouble sleeping. Had to walk aways for dinner.

We booked this hotel based on the positive reviews and we were not disappointed. The hotel is located in a pleasant residential neighbourhood. The staff were cheerful and helpful. The room had everything we needed. Quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and it's all within 15 minutes walking distance to the main attractions of this beautiful city. We would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Monte Carmelo in Sevilla to our friends and we would definitely stay there again.

Seville is a wonderful city for a weekend break and we found this hotel a perfect location. At night there is a wealth of restaurants along the river and the Trianna area. If you cross the river you are in the heart of the tourist area for exploring during the day. We found it much cheaper on the LOs Remedios side of the river.
The hotel served a very good breakfast and the all the staff were polite and helpful. The rooms were very clean and they had a pillow menu which was a nice extra .

We spent 3 nights in October in hotel Monte Carmelo in Sevilla. On many aspects we share the other reviews. The hotel is well located (15 minutes walk from the historical center by a pedestrian street Ascunsion with shops, cafe and restaurants in the area). The rooms are a bit old style but clean with modern appliances except the prehistoric toilet flush. Breakfast buffet ok. Prices for the room, the small car parking and the breakfast are reasonnable. Excellent staff (Ana at the front desk and Marina and Eva at breakfast). So let's come to the bad point: soundproofing. In our room, overlooking a narrow one way street, we got the feeling that the window was permanently open though it was closed. The window is made up of an aluminium frame with double glazing. The windows are recent but unefficient because of the rubber joints or frame deformation. The rolling shutter does not help. The street is quite after 11 pm but during the weekends don't expect silence before 2 am because of the people walking around in the bars and motor scooters and cars,...Earplugs are necessary. Moreover you enjoy your neighbours' life as partitions between rooms are also not soundproofed. Request a room overlooking in the little courtyard but there is a limited number. In conclusion this is a pity because the staff does a good job and the hotel itself is correct despite its seventies old style.

Room Tip: Avoid if possible the rooms overloking the streets.

We found this hotel to be great from the start with a welcome email being received soon after booking with special request options such as interests for sightseeing, pillow menu options and any special needs.

When we checked in, this allowed the very informed and warm receptionist to provide us with a pile of brochures and map so that we could set out soon after to explore.

Car parking is an issue with the hotel only having 10 car spaces within the building for over 60 rooms. We had requested a car park but one was not available until our second day of stay so we were directed to a public underground carpark about 7 minutes walk away that charged 18 Euro for a 24 hour period. We think you had to remove the car after that time or pay a penalty but we did not have enough language to know that for sure. The fee to park in the hotel was 10 Euros per night. There is an unloading zone and also street parking outside the hotel but there are time restrictions on those zones as they become clearways during morning and evening peak.

The room was spacious and the bathroom enormous. It was quiet with double glazing plus roll down internal screen blinds which blocked out all light and most noise plus the area was pretty quiet at night anyway. There was a mini bar, television but no kettle. The restaurant in the lobby served breakfast only but we went around the corner to a coffee shop that also served pastries and bruschetta for breakfast.

Los Remedios is located just beside the river and alongside Triana which is the tapas bar and restaurant area plus a really attractive area to walk around. We walked each day across one of the bridges to explore the old centre of town including the Cathedral, Alcazar, some lovely parks and museums and it was an easy stroll. The tourist map given at the hotel is detailed enough for navigation and we were also given a tapas bar recommendations list by the hotel. Unfortunately our tapas crawl night was cut short before it began by the deluge of rain which caused some flash flooding and the places we went to were only serving drinks not food that night as I believe staff were not available.
