“Not 4 stars”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2013

The hotel was ok and the inside patios idea is very nice, but it is NOT a four stars hotel. Installations are flimsy and service patchy. A nice feature is free tea and coffee, but it comes in foam cups. So, a good idea ruined by poor delivery. On the funny side, there is a barman walking around, arrogant as a peacock.
To many other hotels to choose from, so do not recommend.

We had a 2 day stay at this hotel in early May . Arriving by car was quite daunting having to negotiate the narrow streets of this very busy city , and then offload luggage to check in . I thought that was quite a challenge , but then I had to park the car inside their underground car park via a tiny elevator / lift ! Many vehicles had done it before me , and there were plenty paint scratches on the walls to prove it . You just have to be very careful . Parking costs Euro 16 pd.

The Reception staff were very helpful at all times and all the other staff were pleasant and friendly with most speaking some english .

I agree with other comments about the building having a bit of charm , and we also sat out to relax in the open inside garden area which was quite pleasant .

But the hotel is very tired looking and our room was very tired indeed , and not very clean . Numerous aspects in dire need of maintenance , and to be quite honest they are long overdue a serious makeover / upgrade . Most 3 star hotels have nicer more comfortable rooms .

On a positive note , we found the location to be quite central and convenient , and this was a very important aspect for us . Its a short walk to the busy pedestrian walking streets , and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby . Within about 150 metres there is a Tapas bar called Lizarran which had really good food at reasonable prices , and with a good vibe .

If I did stay there again , it would be because of the convenient location .

We've stayed here from 10/04/13 until 13/04/13 in room 164 with 3 persons. The room was very nice and very clean. The atmosphere of the hotel was also very nice and authentic with lovely patio's and places to relax. The personnel was very friendly and helpful) Only remark i could think off was that 1 of the 3 windows in the room looks against a wall (I think because they expanded the hotel) but it wasn't a problem for me personally because i like to sleep with as less sunlight as possible. I would recommend this hotel to anybody because of the arguments I described above and also because its in a very good neighborhood with a lot of local activity and restaurants! ( last remark take a cab to the hotel because its not that easy to find the first time you visite the town!)

Lovely building; it does not feel like a chain hotel. The bar is beautiful and so is the indoor patio. The rooms are very nice, although the first day there was no way of getting any cold water so the shower was scalding hot. The second night the shower kept dripping all night! The hotel advertises "free wi-fi," but even though my room was only a few rooms away from the main router I could not get a decent signal and had to sit in the reception until 2 am to do my work!

At first sight, we really liked the hotel; in one of the small streets in wonderfull Sevilla, with patio's and the room had some charm, however there are two main reasons why we alas feel the hotel is rather average or poor:
- not so clean: both our room as the common area's felt like had not been cleaned properly in ages. At first sight our room looked quite OK, but if you were in a bit longer: dust on doors, dirt in all the smaller corners,... Hotel rooms are usually a little bit dusty, not a big drama for us, but here it was really too dirty alas. The same was true for the common area's, like the corridors, felt like they were never vacuumcleaned, and also the third day of our stay, the same dirt was still there. Also the reception area is very messy.
- quality of the breakfast: it's nice they make a fresh egg on demand (although it's not that easy to ask for one, servants are not that often around and more mostly around to check you only have breakfast if you have it included in your room rate), but that's it. The selection of products is not too bad, however the quality is really disapointing. The coffee and fruit juice are not good (especially the fruit juice which is reallly chemic), and also a lot of the other products just taste like they have just been taken out of the plastic bags, no fresh things. this was a disapointment as you need to pay for the breakfast. We went to a bar to have a coffee after breakfast, that says it all.

Further: only 15 minutes by taxi from the airport, and a 10 minute walk from the old city center. Nice neighbourhood, always felt save. Room looked quite nice. not big but the bathroom was rather big. The patio's in side the hotel looked really nice. It was difficult to find our hotel room as we did not get clear insturctions and it's a bit tricky to find your way in the hotel.
the hotel is what I consider "cheap" (we were there in March) but I guess in average prices in Sevilla are lower than in Western Europe.

Alas, I can not recommend this hotel unless they make some improvements. I'm a big Best Western fan and this is the first time I'm disapointed in one of their hotels as some of the basic things (clean...) was missing.

Sevilla is really a beautiful city, we enjoyed it very much!

Very happy with this one ,service is very good and the staff very helpful
It's only a few minutes walk to every where
Our room was comfortable and roomy
When we ask to stay an extra night the staff recommended that we book it by Internet because we had a better change to get a better price and yes we receive a better price via Internet
Would recommended this Hotel to any body

We booked into this hotel as the reviews were good and we fancied staying in this area of town for a change. On arriving, we were greeted by a surly man who neither greeted us nor smiled throughout the interaction, and made various demands regarding passports, baggage, signing forms etc. Normal requests, but issued as demands without any humour, despite us being friendly and speaking in spanish to him. Our room was rather shabby, with dirty lampshades, and generally tatty in terms of paintwork, curtains, and bedding. Nice french doors opened out onto the street however this meant that the room was noisy - both with road noise and noise from inside the hotel. Also, the huge lamp outside the hotel shone directly into our room all night, and the curtains didn't shut properly so were ineffective. The bathroom was OK but the bath was small and the toiletries sparse - if you wanted anything such as travel toothbrush, comb, sewing kit etc you had to ask at reception (these things are normally available as standard in hotels in Spain). Tea and coffee was available downstairs but nasty polystyrene cups only. The dining area was small and pokey, and again, less available as standard. We didn't have breakfast as it was expensive, and we were glad not to have done so when we saw what was on offer - not a good selection.
The real clincher for us was when we tried to leave and get our car out of their parking facility. The parking area is a walk down the road, and therefore a member of staff has to take you there. When we went to leave we were told we should have left at 12.30, despite us not having arrived until 4 the previous day. The very rude and aggressive reception man (a different one to the check-in person) told us that we would have to pay for another full day of parking (another 16 euros) to get our car. We explained to him we had assumed it was 24 hours (as is one day which is what is said on booking.com), but he absolutely refused to accept this saying they needed spaces for people checking in from 12.30. Many cross words were exchanged including him threatening to get the police involved, which we welcomed but in fact he would not call them. We finally told him we wanted to speak to the manager, so he rang them, and was told to give us our car and not charge us. He then took us to our car, shaking his head all the way and we wondered at one point if he was going to become physically aggressive, so we stayed out of his way. We will be writing to the manager of the hotel to complain about his attitude which was both inflammatory and unreasonable, especially as the car park was almost empty!
Just don't go there, there are so many other nice hotels with friendly staff. Will be staying either back at Eurostars Regina or Corregidor around the corner.

Room Tip: don't get one on the front - the internal rooms are better I think
