We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We arrived impromptu after having had enough of Marbella and deciding to go see somewhere else, we stayed for four nights as the children loved the pool and mini club, and we enjoyed the city and hotel outside dining. We liked it, and would recommend it....
The Barcelo Sevilla is a lovely hotel, only a short taxi ride from the centre of town where all the main Points of Interest are. The staff were always approachable and helpful when needing directions and any thing else required.
We stayed in a Suite, which was situated on the bottom floor of building 1. There was a nice welcome platter of fruits and chocs waiting for us when we got into the room. The room was very large, and private, with plenty of space for the 4 of us. The outdoor jacuzzi was also a great bonus to have :)
The rooms could have down with a little more storage (Drawers, Cupboards etc) but that is a small thing.
The hotel itself catered very well for the whole family. There were enough food choices for my wife (Veggie), and my daughter (Coeliacs). Breakfast buffet was also well stacked, with many great options. The Outdoor Barbecoa for dinner was also a great option. The food was always cooked well, and the staff were always attentive during dinner service.
There is a gym, and a 2 pools. The outdoor pool was a tad on the small side, but we still enjoyed our many hours in it. There is also a 2nd pool which is part indoor, part outdoor (i think that will be opening next year). Food (hot and cold) and drink are available near the pool as well.
The gym was nice, again....a bit on the small side, but still with all the main machines and weights needed. I would have preferred if the gym was only accessible by adults, and there were kids running in from the pool, in flip flops going onto the running machines, and picking up weights! maybe have a secure door where you need to use your door pass to get into the gym?
The kids club was also great, with morning and evening slots available. Our two children (5 & 9) enjoyed all the activities that were made available by the Kids Club team.
It is also a stones throw (a long throw) from Isla Magica / Aqua Magica, which is a fun day out for the whole of the family.
This hotel should be classified as 4 star not 5 star, the swimming pool is small and full of people , To check in and out you need to wait standing up for a long time in a line. The food in the restaurant and bar is very good.
Stayed in this large and welcoming hotel for 4 nights in August 2016. No complaints at all. Short taxi ride (about €6) to the centre and right on the doorstep of Isla Magica. We had a room for 4 with one king and one sofa bed. Our kids are 12 and 9 and there was plenty of room. A little more storage maybe would help but not a massive issue for 4 days. Pool area very good after a day in the summer heat. Staff all very friendly. Some can speak English but any attempt at Spanish is appreciated. Hotel has a pirate theme in summer but reverts to a business hotel primarily. It's huge but has plenty of areas to relax and have a drink. We ate one night in the Barbacoa (bbq) restaurant and it was very good. They don't fleece you and it's very reasonable compared to UK hotels. 5 min walk or short mini train journey to Isla Magica when the hotel train runs. Taxis always available outside. Struggling to think of a negative so that shows it must be a good hotel, hence I think it is worth 5 star rating that i've given it. It was ideal for us.
About as close as it is possible to get to Isla Magica. Cool inside despite temperatures outside hitting 40c. Nice rooms limited views. Good outside pool and very good kids facilities during the summer. Limited food options and a bit isolated but if it's the Spanish version of Disney you are in Sevilla for this is just about perfect.
