“Dated hotel and horrible staff!”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

Stayed at this property during the Feira taking place in Sevilla, and I have to say that after traveling around Spain for 3 weeks, this is the worst hotel we stayed at. We originally had a longer stay, but decided to leave for the lack of service and quality of the hotel. Starting from the reception area, in which you have to wait an hour to check in (A hotel this size should have a bigger front desk and more staff). The room was extremely dated. The floors were dirty, the bathroom must have been nice 20 years ago, because the marble now has so many cracks. No wifi in the room was also extremely disappointing and the lobby connection was horrible. Due to the lack of staff, anything you needed during your stay, you would have to wait in a line for over 30 minutes. We attempted to have breakfast in the morning; however, after waiting to be served and asking 3 times to the serve for coffee, we decided to leave.
I would not recommend this hotel for anybody as it is also distant from any of the historical areas and the staff sent us the wrong direction in order to find the tour bus and we ended up lost.

Airy for a big hotel, with nice pool area and choice of restaurants. Hotel more suited to business / conferences, as it's a little out of town and a little soulless. Nice orange trees outside: pool unheated so unused in March.

If you can, go up to a Club room: much bigger and nicer for a small price increment. The Silken Club rooms also give you access to a small business lounge (which nobody told me about when I checked in) but is a good place to get free water and snacks or hold a small meeting if nothing else.

Breakfast choice very good, with excellent fresh orange juice on tap (but v small glasses). Some of the reception staff were outstandingly pleasant.

Staying here for a conference for a week, noted the following drawbacks:

Inconsistent and poor wifi. Outdated system of computer-generated codes valid for three days; need to pay 6 euro per day if you want to download anything, and even so coverage was sketchy at best. The poor wifi (nonexistent for most) really undermined the success of the conference. The hotel needs free wifi with a simple password - wifi that works everywhere.

Cards demagnetized sometimes (not unusual) meaning long walk down to reception.

No tea/coffee facilities in rooms (teacups at breakfast teeny).

No ironing facilities in the rooms. When I asked for an iron, I received a leaky old model and one of those desktop boards: this at a charge for 2 euros an hour despite staying in a premium room. Did not succeed in ironing with it as I had no intention to ruin a silk blouse. Also: was not available at short notice - the lady I spoke to at reception laughed at me when I asked for it to be delivered within half an hour at 8.30 am. Room for improvement.

'Restaurants' a bit same-y, huge and uninspiring. Mass catering feel. Much better idea to take a taxi into town.

Conference food and service was largely fine. Some conference rooms suffered serious lack of air/overheated. Also water served to drink was sometimes chlorinated tap water.

Room Tip: go for a Silken Club for more room - the exterior ones are best though a long walk from reception

I chose this hotel as arriving late in Seville I wanted easy drive from airport. I paid for upgraded room which was a waste of money as all rooms need upgrading/painting etc. Also I needed wi-fi which was unavailable in the rooms. There was wi-fi in the hotel foyer. Beds were too hard and views were awful from back of hotel. Ask for room with pool view.
Good points the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel and it is served until 1100 am. Also they will include late checkout 4pm in certain rooms and the parking fee was reasonable if you book direct with hotel. This hotel is good if you are just passing though Seville as easy too find and excellent breakfast will see you on your way.

Room Tip: Ask for room with view of pool! Also request room with wi-fi if needed as not all rooms have this.

This hotel was pretty disappointing. It's kind of far from the center of town- taking the bus was easy enough from the hotel but cabs were hard to come by during peak hours. The rooms were quite small and you couldn't control the temperature of your own room. The staff were friendly and spoke good english even though there was always a long chaotic line at reception. The pool and common areas were nice, although everything (including the rooms) looked a little dated and could have been cleaner. Wifi was really spotty and slow as well. Luckily we got a good deal on it and we were only there for one night.

Cannot fault in any way staff and service provided by this hotel. May be a little of the beaten path, but getting a travel card and using the local bus service only added to that feeling of really being part of Spain. Nothing to much trouble for the reception staff, or those that looked after us in the bars and restaurants'. Would not hesitate to visit again or recommend to anyone else.
My wife and I badly needed a break in which we would be looked after. This hotel certainly fulfilled that criteria.

Excellent hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Food and drink prices quite high even for a city. Large comfortable bedrooms with lovely marble ensuite. It was great that outdoor pool was open so early in the year. Disappointing that bistro only open 4 nights per week. It is a little off patch for central Seville sightseeing but is only a short by or taxi rude away .

Hotel was ideal for the deal we got. The breakfast is lovely, so much choice! Staff were not the most friendly i have came across, they would not go out your way to help you. Pool and facilities were up to a good standard, can become rather overcrowded in pool area though. The hotel is not in the centre of Seville but there is frequent buses to the centre of town which take ten/fifteen minutes. Good for value if you get one of the less expensive rooms.
