“good deal to visit Sevilla”
Reviewed May 4, 2014

The hotel is situated in the homonyms quarter. With a 30 minutes walk is possible to reach the Sevilla Cathedral. We had a nice room with a very large bed. Is possible to use a private parking (11€ per day), this is a good deal if you have a car and you want to visit the city.

An excellent hotel. Our room was very comfortable, with air-conditioning and thick curtains which meant we were able to enjoy a lie-in in the mornings. The room was very quiet and the bed was large. The bathroom was good, with plenty of space to put stuff (very welcome after many hotels where you have to put toiletries etc on the floor). After we booked the hotel, we were asked if we wanted a kettle for our room, which was much appreciated. There was also a mini bar and air-conditioning - pretty much everything needed for a comfortable stay.

One of the best things about this hotel was the delicious breakfast. The hot selection was limited and nothing special, but the rest of it was great - delicious fruit, cereals, pastries, cheese and ham, juice and lots more. One of the best breakfasts I've had for ages.

The hotel is in the Triana area of Seville. There are restaurants within easy walking distance. As others have said, it's approximately a 25-minute walk to the centre of Seville, but we enjoyed the walk, and there's also a bus stop virtually opposite the hotel.

Lastly, I have to mention the staff. They were excellent - friendly, helpful and efficient. In fact my partner said the service at this hotel was the best he's experienced for a couple of years.

The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood and it takes about 20+ minutes walking to the "interesting" part of the city. The pro is that you will be crossing the beautiful Triana bridge with very nice view on your way to central Seville, but you might be too tired to walk back after a full day of activities. Fortunately a taxi ride does not cost that much. There are some shops and restaurants close to the hotel, but I think all the good restaurants are in central Seville. The room is nicely appointed with ample space. I think it's an excellent choice for short stay. For longer stay you might consider some place in town that's closer to all the actions.

Dear Sir/Madame,
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are glad that you liked our Establishment and Service. Our walking distance to the Cathedral is 20-25 minutes, however, there a multiple means of transport that are really cost conscious. The bus stops right outside the hotel and a ride is less than 1.50 euros. Taxis to the center can be as cheap as 5-10€. Walking around Sevilla is great, but it shouldn’t be compulsory, rather a choice.
We hope you enjoyed your time with us and thank you once again for choosing us as your Hotel in Sevilla.

The main reason I chose this hotel was its relatively reasonable price and the good reviews that I read on TripAdvisor.

The neighborhood around the hotel seemed highly residential and walking around gave you an impression of what daily life in Seville was like. There are plentiful restaurants, bars and shops in the neighborhood, so if a full day of sightseeing leaves you tired, you can stay in the area at night.

The hotel is clearly old though well maintained. Our room and the en suite bathroom were both very spacious. The airconditioning wasn't working very well. This wasn't an issue during the cool nights in April, but could become a problem in the hotter months. The beds were very comfortable. WiFi speed was decent.

Breakfast had to be paid for separately. Guests can choose between slightly less expensive set menus (consisting of a sandwich, juice and coffee) or a buffet breakfast. We opted for the set menu and were quite satisfied with our meal as well as with the service.

The people at the reception were very helpful and friendly. I believe they speak English, given the international clientele that they get (I was speaking to them in Spanish), and heard one of them speaking French.

If you are looking for a centrally located hotel, then this place is not for you. However, if you don't mind a leisurely walk along the banks of the Rio Guadalquivir, crossing lovely bridges, and taking about 20 minutes to get to the center of Seville, then you could consider this hotel. Alternatively, you can take the bus or a taxi. There are bus stops in front of the hotel and other bus stops a little farther away, and the people at reception will gladly help you figure out which bus to take if you tell them where you'd like to go.

Dear Sir /Madame,
Thank you so much for taking the time to post your review.
As you well describe, our Hotel is located about 15-20 minutes of an enjoyable walk to the main sites. The surrounding area is a bit less touristy and more residential, which makes it a bit more authentic.
Our 114 rooms have been completely refurbished a couple of years back, the Beds and Mattresses have just been renovated and upgraded in March of 2014 and the common areas, which you probably refer to will be updated shortly.
Just to clarify for all guests, regarding the A/C, our Hotel runs a centralized system, meaning that we have to operate it for the entire hotel, this is why we manage it on and off in this time of the year when it is neither warm nor cool, (the same day you might have a 10 degree Celsius- difference) to assure our guests have comfortable temperatures in their rooms during the entire day and night. Clients can only control on/off and fan speed in their thermostats.
We look forward to seeing you again at Hotel Monte Triana or at any of our sister hotels located in Sevilla, Cádiz, Málaga or Huelva.
With best regards,,

Overall a good city hotel near the river. Nice rooms. Good service.
We drove and it was quite difficult with all the one way streets and traffic. When we arrived the car park affiliated to the hotel was full (charged at 11euros per day). So they told us to find alternate parking- the public car parks are about 17 euros plus per day. We eventually managed to find street parking free for 2 days but took us a while to find it as roads are so narrow and congested and one way!! There is a car park nearby for 60 cents per day but not overnight. Think would stay here again if we weren't driving.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your comments.
Our underground parking has a limited amount of places, and during High Season, it sometimes may be full. We are sorry you couldn’t find an empty space for your car.
Actually one of the advantages of our Hotel is that it does have good access by car, and from here you may walk or take public transport to the historic center, which is definitely the part of Town which is almost impossible by car, and very few hotels in that area do have a proper parking service.
Despite this, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us.
Hope to see you again for Sevilla or any other of our properties in Cadiz, Málaga and Huelva.

Nice and helpful staff. Twin (two bed) room was a very good size, super clean and quiet. The hotel is the Triana neighborhood of Seville and you can walk to the main city and attraction site from the hotel in roughly 20 min. It's a nice walk, particularly walking over the Puente de Isabel II bridge. But after a couple of walks, you're going to find the bus well worth taking. The bus stop is across the street from the hotel and the fare is 1,40 euro. The helpful hotel staff will tell you which number bus to take - I think it may have been the number 43 bus. Now, the only hiccup I encountered at Hotel Monte Triana was with the 85 euro bill for laundry service on two small bags of clothes (a light load). Now this may be the standard fee for hotel laundry service throughout Spain (I don't know), but I found this to be ridiculously high. And I recognize that I'm entirely at fault for not asking about the fee prior to having my laundry done. But I honestly thought the most I'd pay would be 45 euros, especially considering it was a light load. Lesson learned. Next time I'm in Spain and need laundry service, I will be sure to first ask the hotel staff about their fees before handing over my laundry.

Dear Sir/ Madame,
Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to post a review.
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us.
Regarding the “hiccup” with Laundry Service, I think that there might have been a misunderstanding. Hotels in Spain normally charge an amount per item, not per load or weight. The price per unit is specified on the Laundry sheet next to the bags you handed, which you probably filled in to specify what type of service you wanted for each item (washing, ironing, dry cleaning, etc.) and you should have received that sheet back when your laundry was delivered summing the total cost. We are sorry if this in any way caused confusion to you.
We would love to see you back soon in any of our Hotels located in Sevilla, Cadiz, Málaga or Huelva.
With best regards,

Yes, it is nice and quiet if that what you're looking for. The main drawback is the location - it is NOT a walking distance form the main "happening" area of the old town. You have to use a public bus and it takes time and certain limitations. So, if you're in Seville for a short time, it's worth to get something on the other side of the bridge, closer to the old town area.
Otherwise, clean and nice, friendly staff.
