“quite good if you have a discount”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2012

We stayed for nights at this hotel in July, with a huge discount from voyageprive.

The good points : very well located, 100 m from the metro (and 3 stops from the Barrio de Santa Cruz) and 15 minutes by foot. Large rooms, good bed and bathroom, good breakfast, efficient service. No noise despite being located on a large avenue. Free and efficient Internet.

The bad points : not many. Maybe the style (1970s), some refurbishing would be useful, and the fact that you have to pay for the spa (13 Euros).

The Hesperia Hotel is a good hotel around a pleasant 10 minute walk to the Barrio de Santa Cruz in the centre of Sevilla.

It is a very apt hotel for a hot, hot city like Sevilla – marble floors and walls throughout, air conditioning on all floors and rooms. You will need an oasis like this in spring and summer when temperatures can reach over 45 degrees (over 110 degress for the Yankee and imperial readers). Staff are warm and accommodating with a high standard of English. There are three lifts to ensure you are never waiting long to get around despite the size of the hotel. Rooms are spacious and contain all you would need for a comfortable stay. The hotel has a restaurant and very nice bar that services both drinks and tapas. There is also an expensive shop on the grounds of the hotel for those with money to burn. Drinks and food are expensive which is common for higher quality hotels, and there is also a gymnasium attached which seems very costly at 14 euros per visit for residents.

If you want a little luxury away from the crowds in the city centre this may be the place for you. There are good hotels in the centre but the increased cost and noise will be the price you pay. Our party enjoyed the occasional 10 minute walk to and from the centre. The Hesperia is also now part of the NH chain of hotels which means it should maintain or even improve in quality over the coming years. Within a few minutes walk there are also many bars and the Nervion Centro Commercial for those who like their shopping.

Overall, it is a good value 4-Star Hotel in a relatively convenient location for the city. It is recommended.

Room Tip: Drinking in the many nearby smaller bars will make your pound/euro stretch much further.

We loved Seville and we had a very good stay at this hotel. The Metro (Nervion) is very close to the hotel and in 3 stops you are in the historical area of Seville. We used the car park but you could get street parking. The soft furnishings in the rooms perhaps looked a little tired but overall we thought that the lobby and restaurant were very smart. Breakfast was mainly continental but you could order cooked eggs, Omelettes and scrambled. Staff were fine, head waiter at breakfast was delightful. WiFi free in rooms.

We stayed for four nights at the Hesperia which is ideally situated for seeing the lovely city of Seville. It takes about 20 minutes to walk into the city centre or you can take the Metro from Nervion Station which is right next to the hotel. The mainline train station is about a 15 minute walk, from where you can easily travel to Cordoba (recommended) or Granada for the day. The hotel itself is clean, the rooms are large. My only complaint was that for some reason we were given a family room with an extra bed which meant that the two armchairs and coffee table had been removed, making it very difficult to sit comfortably or watch the TV should you want to. The included buffet breakfast was average, the earlier you went the better the choice. Generally the staff were very helpful, although there were a couple of occasions when their attitude left much to be desired!

Hesperia Seville is only a 10 minute walk from the train station, and 10 minutes to the edge of the center city, then 5 or 10 minutes to the cathedral depending on your route. Of course, then the streets wind around and you will notice everyone staring at their maps for help. By the next day you know enough of the city so you won't be getting lost as much and know the more direct routes. If you turn left out of the hotel, one block away is Nervion shopping center, and the next block up has an El Cortes Ingles. A Mas supermarket is closer to the central. There are plenty of restaurants in the area if you do not choose one in the central city.

The hotel was clean. The room was large. I had a single room, and the bed was 2 twin beds pushed together with each mattress made up separately. There were also a couple chairs, desk, closet, and TV. The bathroom was clean and modern with a small bar of hand soap and liquid soap in the shower. The room was warm and the temperature controls had no affect, but the window opened. There were computers in the lobby for internet, but with a hefty charge.

The room seems overpriced for what you get, but I think everything in Seville is overpriced.

We stayed there for 2 nights, during our trip in Andalusia. The main advantage of the hotel is that it's located just next to a Metro station (Nervión), so you can park your car at hotel's parking lot (15 EUR/day) and take Metro to the city center. Sevilla is famous for it's narrow streets and traffic, so it was our main driver to choose Hesperia. Rooms need some renovation, it also smelled of cigarettes on a non-smoking floor. We had buffet breakfast included in the rate. You could argue that they offer wide selection of options in the buffet, but we found it below average comparing to other places we stayed during the trip. Especially when it comes to selection of traditional Spanish food.

Room Tip: Go to one of the cafes/restaurants in the city center for breakfast, instead of paying of the breakf...
