Definitely should be at the top of any list for visitors to seville. A really lovely way to spend a few hours. However I would strongly advise that you buy online tickets and then make sure that you get in the right queue. We bought tickets for opening and got there about 20 mins ahead of time. It was quite confusing with all the crowds but the queue for online tickets was the centre one and the longest was for people buying tickets on the door. We got let in first so was able to get in there and take some photos without all the crowds in the background.

We were queueing when an official guide came up to us to propose a visit in Spanish. We decided to go for it and got to avoid the huge queue ! Getting a guide is the best way to experiment the Real Alcazar. Our guide was giving us many details and telling very interesting stories about the place. We would certainly not have the same visit by ourselves. It's very beautiful and you can easily walk around the different rooms and gardens. Quite an amazing visit !

Well worth the entrance fee, lots to see and do and plenty of great photo ops. You really get to see the splendor of the ancients

Endless photo opportunities in absolutely beautiful surroundings.

The gardens were stunning.

The kids did get a little bored after 30 minutes or so.

It was great that under 15's were free so only €9 for each adult. Well worth the admission.

We bought our tickets ahead. We had audio guides for our tour of the upper rooms. Arrive a few minutes prior to your tour time. We were told to go in past the second Plaza and turn right, skipping a line outside. We went up a set of stairs to a desk where they had audio devices. It was a little confusing what the expectation was there, but it turned out we just needed to wait our turn. Then a group of about 15 or so of us were led through the private rooms with a friendly guard. We went through the rooms with our audio guides. It was very interesting and the rooms are beautiful. No photography is allowed in the rooms. Small lockers are provided for 1 Euro which you get back when retrieving your items. The Alcazar is pretty! We spent about 2-3 hours there and could have stayed a bit longer if we had the time. Highly recommended!
