Owner description: The Barrio Santa Cruz used to be the Jewish quarter. The streets are narrow and form a labyrinth. It’s easy to get lost among the jasmine-scented streets… only to discover a convent or a palace or a hotel. Many of the palaces have wrought iron gates suitable for peeping into their beautiful patios. There are many small stores and some artisan shops, as well as good art galleries.

Extremely easy to get lost and the streets are so narrow so you can't see the cathedral, even though it's really nearby. Do don't venture in without a map. Cool streets, dotted with tapas bars, shops and pretty squares- a perfect place to spend a few hours.

The narrow streets, the tapas bars and buildings are well worth seeing. Yet, the area can be very busy with people, despite the fact that we went in November. Excellent base to see the main monuments and easy walk to the bus station (Prado de San Sebastian) and Airport bus.

your map will probably not do you any good, use the tower of Giralda as a guide if you can see it. Otherwise, the design was to confuse invaders so do get lost and enjoy the shops and tapas bars in between. Temperature in the narrow barrio can be 30% lower than outside barrio again, a green design by the muslims.

This area is right by Alcazar and is absolutely worth wondering around in if you have the time. It can be crowded as it is a popular place for tourists but it's not too bad. There are many little restaurants n cafe's around to make stops at and enjoy some spanish tapas or a nice cool drink. It's a wonderful way to see the streets of Seville and spend a couple of hours.
