Owner description: The Barrio Santa Cruz used to be the Jewish quarter. The streets are narrow and form a labyrinth. It’s easy to get lost among the jasmine-scented streets… only to discover a convent or a palace or a hotel. Many of the palaces have wrought iron gates suitable for peeping into their beautiful patios. There are many small stores and some artisan shops, as well as good art galleries.

“Old quarter with a warren of narrow alleys.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

I've never seen such a combination of narrow alleys and magnificent dwellings before. Many of the sidewalks are so small that you can only go in single file. It becomes even more crazy when you'll see how traffic squeezes through these alleys.

“Quaint and super”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

I stayed in one of the smaller BB places in Barrio Santa Cruz. What a charming area - narrow and cobbled stone lanes. The whole area has a character of its own. Lots of nice eating / drinking places. It is also close to all the attractions.

“Interesting neighborhood, full of history”

We did a walking tour with a guide book. Lots of interesting history, narrow winding streets, great shops and restaurants. You can do the walking tour easily in 1-2 hours.

“Wander the Barrio and Discover Old Seville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2013

A warren of little streets to the West of the Real Alcazar Palace and Cathedral, the Barrio is fascinating. Despite the convoluted streets, you cannot get lost for long, so don't worry. There are beautiful buildings to see at every turn, and bars in every square. Of particular interest id the Hospital de los Venerables on Calle Gloria. The church is mind-blowing!

“Best part of Sevilla!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

Great bars and restuarants. Amazing architecture! Easter week was amazing but crowds can get too big and it is a little scary when you are sandwiched in with too many people.
