Owner description: The Barrio Santa Cruz used to be the Jewish quarter. The streets are narrow and form a labyrinth. It’s easy to get lost among the jasmine-scented streets… only to discover a convent or a palace or a hotel. Many of the palaces have wrought iron gates suitable for peeping into their beautiful patios. There are many small stores and some artisan shops, as well as good art galleries.

“Colonial, Colourful & Cute”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

A must see area of Seville, which almost all tourists flock to. It has some beautiful little side streets lined with everything you need for the day. Tapas restaurants, bars, shops, ice-creams, and all of the brightly & lovingly decorated.
Like most tourist areas, it can be a little pricey for something to eat, but as long as that doesn't bother you, you'll love it.

“For tourists”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

The Barrio is picturesque with lots of small shops but we found that we saw the same merchandise in many of the shops. Prices are high in the shops and restaurants. You can do better shopping and dining in the centro area.

“Where getting lost is fun”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

Charming winding streets will take you back a few hundred years but don't be in a hurry. You may be surprised at where you end up but nothing is too far away and local residents are quite helpful.

“A nice way to get lost.”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

Cozy little streets and 'plazas', very nice to wonder around. But also full of the inevitable souvenir shops and 'genuine' Spanish restaurants. Beware of the tourist traps.

“Fun place to traverse during the day and return for dinner”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

Interesting shops, history and architecture. Though it contains many windy streets - they are easy to follow. Lots of fun spots for lunch and dinner. Access is beside the Alcazar Palace.
