This is a really nice area of the town. The tower will take some doing in climbing (no stairs except a few at very top) It's a slant walk up and is about 34 flights (if I'm not mistaken) The view is worth it though. The courtyard is very relaxing with fountains around too. Architecturally as most catedrals are breathtaking.

Trying to take a picture of the tomb of Columbus is near impossible because it seemed swarmed at all times. But definitely walk up the tower! Amazing views and picture opportunities at every landing.

Took a tour of Seville and this was our second stop on the tour. Approaching through side streets to the church is just overwhelming when you first see it. It is huge!

We had a guided tour inside the cathedral and was happy we could learn about the history in detail.

Never thought in my life I'd be standing next to the crypt of Christopher Columbus!

Stunning building. I am not that into church visits but this was lovely to view. If you go at the right time you can see a service in progress, but that does mean that you can't see the whole Cathedral. We didn't take the audio tour as we were a little short to time, but it is probably worthwhile.

Italy and Spain have a church on every corner, kinda like Bank of America used to be everywhere. You have to pick and choose or you'll become jaded and bored. This one IS very big! It has so many different styles of small, in comparison to the entire cathedral, chapels within that you get a taste of several churches in one. The Treasure Room is filled with gold chalices, small statues, bejeweled religious objects, just lovely to behold, and possibly a catalyst for forming a critique of religion. The eclectic architecture of the exterior calls to mind the imposition of one belief structure upon another not just in dogma, but in building styles.
Again, as seniors, a show of our US passport, got us "pensionistas" discounts.
