The Hotel Fontecruz is very well located on a small street in the heart of the historic core of Seville. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and gracious. The decor is modern and 'design-y' with lots of greys and blacks, hip modern furniture in the lounges. As with any hotel the rooms vary in size, my first room looked out onto a quiet courtyard and was larger than the room I had at the end of my culinary tour when my group returned to Seville. The hotel has a terrific rooftop terrace with bar that probably can get noisy when the season is in full swing, but in October that was not an issue. Having a pool is a real asset to cool down and exercise at the end of the day. I'm sure this is a real plus in hot weather! I and my clients LOVED the beds--- among the most comfortable that our well-traveled group had encountered in any hotels anywhere. Good internet connectivity too.
Breakfasts were very good with ample choice of baked goods, fresh fruits, very nice juices, charcuterie, cheeses, and delicious jams. Eggs and bacon were also available. Good strong coffee. The hotel location, as does many others in this quarter, does not permit cabs to pull right up to the front door so you may need to pull your bag for a block or so to find a cab, or when you are dropped off by a cab. The streets are too small for cars and minivans. If that is not an issue (and the staff is helpful if you need help) I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.
