“In the heart of Old Sevilla”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

This hotel is a perfect location for walking to all the sites of old Sevilla. Just a few meters from the Cathedral, the Alcazar, and many of the picturesque locations in the area, it offers upscale rooms and amenities in a modern decor while preserving the look and feel of the city. The meals are good though a bit limited in selection. The staff is multi-lingual and very friendly and helpful. The Turkish bath is simply a steam room and nothing else, so that was a bit disappointing. The pool is not open this time of year (Feb.) so can't evaluate that. We had to move rooms as the first room didn't have any hot water; no problem as the staff moved us right away. in the 2nd room our wifi wasn't working but again, they came immediately and took care of the problem.

Room Tip: Some rooms have steps up/down to them so if you have a limitation, be sure and specify.

We stayed at the Fontecruz for a couple of nights and were immediately impressed with the hotel. It's located in the labrynth of very narrow alleyways just north of the Cathedral (2mins walk away) so you almost need to get lost to find it, and once you enter, the large atrium with the wooden cieling and the ultra modern furnishing are certainly impressive. The room was great, with a very large bathroom, well stocked minibar and a nice french window, but for some reason something about the overall experience seemed a bit off. I'm not trying to be difficult or find faults, but something about the level of service seemed inconsistent with the hotel. The hotel design and decor put up a luxury-boutique air (mind you I'm not a big fan of 50s hollywood memorabilia, but that's a matter of personal taste) while the front office operated on a more laid back/friendly motel level. Which was fine, and we thought they were great, but it was inconsistent with the image the hotel tried display. One of the major disappointments was that the amazing roof terrace bar was not open (you could still take your own drinks and sit up there, there just wasn't any service - or heaters-) but all in all, we really enjoyed the hotel, and would recommend it to anyone going to Sevilla.

stayed in this beautiful hotel, and I have to say that its one of the best stays I have had in ages. The people are so nice, and the hotel is so beautifully designed and decorated, that you feel like you are living in a lounge all the time.....fantastic feeling.

Location is superb, and the hotel facilities are very good!!

if you are going to visit Seville, choose this hotel, you will not be disappointed.

This hotel was a real find providing excellent value for our family weekend away to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. The staff were delightful; gave very useful directions and recommendations, and made a fuss of my mum which she loved. The rooms were beautifully decorated, immaculately clean with very comfortable beds. The location is ideal; central but tucked away down a back street so there is very little noise - apart from the obligatory 2.00am noisy dustman. To be honest I don't know when I haven't had one (or several) of these making a racket at some unholy hour whilst staying in a Spanish city! Ask the receptionist to book the flamenco show at the Baile de Flamenco; it is really authentic, intense and passionate, not an expensive tourist spectacle. Seville is a wonderful city - have fun.

Room Tip: upper floor is quieter

I stayed at the Fontecruz Sevilla on a recent trip to Seville. Having never been to Seville before, I have to admit that I was quite lucky to stumble across this hotel as it is so central. The pictures on the website don't lie - the cathedral is really that close! Also very close are so many great tapas and wine bars!
The hotel itself is fabulous - Moody lighting. A spacious foyer adorned with fashionable couches and designer chairs. The rooms are spacious as are the bathrooms (which is a rarity in Europe).
The staff are also very friendly and helpful.
I also booked a massage in the hotel which actually turned out to be one of the best massages I've ever had. Highly recommended!!
I would definitely recommend the Fontecruz Sevilla to anyone who was going to Seville. In fact I'll probably make an excuse to go back to Seville, just to stay at the hotel again.

Design is great. Modern with a touch of old history. It has collumns dating back to 1653. Room 105 is the best, huge room, lots of space. The hotel has terraces with the view of the nearby cathedral. It is very close to restaurant street. About 50 meters and you will find a great selection of tapas bars and restaurants. The hotel is close to the palace, cathedral, old city, flamenco tableau, river and everything else that is worthy of a visit to seville. Great value. Great service from the front office, especially pedro. We will come back.
The only downside for people with rented car is the parking is 10 minutes walk.
