“Superb boutique hotel in the heart of the city”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

This Hotel deserves all the plaudits it gets. It's simply spot on.

I very rarely if ever comment on other travelers' comments but I feel I need to on this occasion. There are two recent ones that simply miss the point. This hotel is right in the middle of the ancient city - no parking - yes that's exactly what you'd expect. And Seville is a major European city - parking is expensive. Not the hotel's fault. I can't comment on room 103 but we had 106 which was charming and exactly the type of room you get in a great old hotel in the heart of the old city. We loved it.

The complimentary afternoon tea was a nice added extra - and I don't know what people expect but it was good quality. As was the breakfast - for a 9.5 euro charge it was great value - this is a boutique hotel not an international chain!

Ok enough of the putting to rights.

This is a great hotel but it's probably not for everyone. You can drive here - it's an experience in itself. Drop your bags off and park in a nearby underground car park. 5 mins back to the hotel through the narrow streets of the medieval city - great fun! passing countless tapas bars which are also mainly great and mostly inexpensive.

Close the window shutters and the room's quiet as is the a/c. We has a very good night's sleep.

I've absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone who likes a little bit of culture, distinctiveness and class.

Ignore the dissenters and come here you'll not be disappointed!

Having traveled most of Spain - Seville is my favourite city and this hotel is up there with the very best.

Room Tip: 106 superior is lovely.

A beautiful hotel in a great location, within walking distance of all the sights and shopping area.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, superior rooms were of average size our room was overlooking the street which was a little bit noisy at night time
The hotel was spotlessly clean, afternoon tea was a nice touch, would highly recommend the Casa 1800

This is a great hotel to stay in when visiting Seville's old monuments. Everything is in walking distance. Very comfortable rooms and friendly, helpful staff. We will come back.

Room Tip: we had room 3 which is on ground floor but very quiet and with its own private terrace.

One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. A couple hundred yards from the Cathedral in the heart of Barrio Santa Cruz. Bodega Santa Cruz, a great tapas place, is just steps from the front door. The rooms were excellent and the service was very helpful.

I want to go back to Andalucia and no doubt I will stay at Casa 1800 when I do.

I agree with most reviews that Hotel Casa 1800 is in an excellent location, very quaint and pretty. The open courtyard and overall decor is lovely. It is wonderful to be able to walk to most attractions and to some very good restaurants, but since you can not drive/park at the hotel be prepared to pay a hefty price for using the nearby public garage. The most disappointing thing about the hotel, though, was our room. We were unlucky in that we were assigned room 103 and it is quite frankly, awful. To have to say that about a "superior" room is simply unacceptable. The room was so small, so cramped and so uncomfortable we did our best to stay out of it! Thank heavens that the city has so much to offer. One more surprise: when I mentioned to the lady at the front desk that I thought the room was extremely small for a "superior" room, she suggested that next time I reserve ONE OF THEIR SUITES! How's that for arrogant customer service???

Room Tip: STAY AWAY FROM ROOM 103. You are better off finding another hotel is you get this room!

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Hotel Casa 1800. The hotel is located in the old quarter and is very quaint with a lovely courtyard and a larger than normal room. The breakfast buffet was excellent with 4-5 types of fruit, meat, cheeses, bread, pastries, yogurt, coffee, etc. Front desk staff were very helpful in making dinner and train reservations.

Hotel Casa 1800 is right in the heart of the old town of Seville in Spain and is very close to the cathedral. If you are driving there it is very hard to get to and parking is about 5 minutes walk away and costs about 25 Euros for 24 hours. The hotel building is very gracious with chandeliers and marble galore. Staff are helpful. That said the rest is not good. We had a superior room (room 103) which was cramped, had little hanging space, a very average bathroom but a reasonable bed. Cost 164 Euros. What basic rooms are like is best not considered. We were offered a,free, afternoon tea but the choice was limited and quality was not at all good. We chose not to have breakfast as again choice and quality were poor and didn't seem worth the cost of 9.50 Euros per person. There is no restaurant and evening meals were not available or if they were, we were not advised of this Overall a very disappointing way in which to end our trip to Spain

Room Tip: The superior rooms are not good. I can't comment on the others
