The staff were an absolute delight and the room was gorgeous. Great location, view of Giralda from the rooftop terrace. And lovely merienda to enjoy for free!

Room Tip: Pay more and go for the deluxe!

A wonderful place to stay for discovering the delights of Seville. Staff that couldn't be more helpful and charming, well equipped room, superb breakfast (well worth the extra cost), it all added up to a terrific boutique hotel.

My husband and I stayed in this gorgeous hotel based on previous Tripadvisor recommendations and absolutely loved it! Thanks everyone for helping us find it. The location on the doorstep of the old town was fantastic. Breakfast and complementary afternoon tea in the beautiful indoor courtyard were lovely experiences, so peaceful despite the hustle and bustle literally on the hotel's doorstep. With the hotel being located just across the road from one of the most popular bars in Seville, I had been a little concerned about noise at night but the thick shutters on our room kept most of it at bay while also delivering a beautifully dark room to sleep in. We stayed in May, and the selection of fresh fruit at breakfast was unbelievable, of a range and quality we'd only ever previously experienced in good Asian hotels. The staff were friendly and obliging without ceasing to be very professional. Due to the nature of our trip (part work in France, part holiday in Spain and part family reunion in Scotland) we had a lot of luggage (3 suitcases plus a computer bag), which made the room seem a little small, but that was our problem not the hotel's. We would unreservedly recommend Casa 1800 and hope to return there ourselves.

For all of the benefits of this hotel, read the other reviews. I have found them to be generally accurate. We stayed on a Sunday night in June.

Our initial room was #4. By almost any measure, it is not inhabitable. The only window looks directly out to the main inner courtyard. There is a table and chairs literally in front of the window itself. The only privacy option is to keep the blinds shut. In effect, you are paying to stay in a closet at that point.

After asking for a different room, we were moved to room #105. Again, it had a single window looking out to the inner courtyard. Again, there was virtually no privacy if you wanted to let a hint of light into the room. The door to the room is very heavy, but for some reason, not really soundproofed. Music from the breakfast is audible in the room as well. The wireless internet was very slow in the room, but was only a minor annoyance.

In summary, with the right room you should have a great stay. The wrong room ruined it for us. I recommend keeping away from rooms that only have windows facing the courtyard.

My husband and I stayed at Casa 1800 for one night, and we both wish we had been able to stay longer! We had to get back to Madrid for a Real Madrid soccer match, so unfortunately, we only stayed in Seville for one night.

Our taxi driver had no problem at all finding the hotel. When we arrived, I immediately loved the decor and warm feeling that welcomed us. The staff was friendly and attentive, and got us checked in right away. We were in room 109, which was a deluxe room. It was quite large in size and beautifully decorated, with a gorgeous chandelier and amazing heavy, wood, shuttered doors which opened up to a small (tiny) balcony. The bathroom was modern, with great products, robes and slippers. They also provide free bottled water in the mini-bar, which is so nice and convenient, considering other hotels charge $4-7 for water. What I loved the most about this small hotel is that it has modern amenities, but the decor is a mix of traditional and modern. The service was excellent, and the staff was young, but without that "I'm too cool and hip to give good service" attitude that you find in so many new and modern hotels.

As I pulled a dress out of my bag, the strap broke. On our way out to site-see, I asked Javier (at the front desk) if by chance they had a sewing kit. He said he would locate one and have it delivered to our room. Sure enough, it was there when we returned, and I was able to save my dress. It was little things like this that made our short stay there so pleasant. It was almost a feeling of staying with family - where they looked out for us and made sure we were taken care of.

The location is fantastic! You are right smack in the middle of everything. There is a great tapas bar about 20 feet from the hotel (sorry, cannot remember the name of it), the cathedral and Alcazar are about 2 blocks away. We did walk to Plaza de Esapana, but it is a longer walk, so we took a taxi back to town on the return. We took a nice, long walk to the river, then over to the Plaza de Toros, so if you like to walk then it is very convenient. If you don't like to walk, then it is a short cab ride anywhere, and cabs are everywhere you look.

Seville is a lovely town that still has a traditional Spanish feel to it, and if and when we return we will definitely stay at Casa 1800. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family without hesitation. Sorry I don't have more photos to share!

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room in the rear of the hotel

My husband doesn't usually come up with great ideas for holidays that's usually my job but as it was my 50th Birthday (sure there's a mistake on my birth cert) in June he decided to surprise me with a trip to Seville and he did.... by booking the beautiful and wonderful CASA 1800 - I knew from Trip Advisor comments it was good but not just how lovely it was. From the moment we arrived till he pulled me out the door on the last day kicking and screaming as I didn't want to leave, the hotel exceeded all expectations. Beautiful hotel, Great location (Bario Santa Cruz lots of little streets with great restaurants, Bodegas etc) gorgeous bedrooms with a high standard of decor, great breaksfast buffet, Afternoon tea that brought us back to the hotel every day before 5.30pm because we didn't want to miss it, and courtesy of the hotel, but most importantly of all THE STAFF- Ava, Javier, Allegra to name a few - what great people, helpful to the extreme, friendly beyond belief, seeing to our every need when we asked and to the point of providing special breads & cakes for me as a Ceoliac who usually travels with one bag just packed with food which is a real pain - so a real pleasure to find they had gone to the trouble to locate some breads and cakes just for me... 5 stars just for that. We'll definitely return to Seville as it's such a beautiful city but more so that we can stay again at CASA 1800.

Room Tip: Rms 102/3/4 are on quieter side of hotel

My husband, 7-year-old son and I stayed here for four days in late May. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The hotel opened a year or so ago and is in fantastic shape. Clean, comfortable, new. The decor is stylish, soothing and charming. From the muted beige and gold color schme to the carved doors to the wrought iron rails to the inlaid floor tiles to the cool chairs in the breakfast area to the bedding--if you appreciate a hotel with style you'll love the incredible attention to detail that went into this space. It's really the only hotel I've been to where the pictures on the web site truly represent what it looks and feels like in real life. Other perks: the common area is cool and comfortable; there's a free "afternoon tea" during the siesta hour; there's a computer with free internet access tucked into a private little alcove; and the location is fantastic, literally just a two minute stroll to the Cathedral and the heart of Santa Cruz.

The rooms were terrific. We stayed in the Grand DeLuxe suite for two nights (room 209), which was extremely spacious and lovely, and then in a regular room for two nights. Even the regular room was spacious and comfortable for two (though it definitely felt "tighter" for three after having been in the suite). The spacious marble bathrooms had all the bells and whistles. I've seen comments about the street noise as relates to the Grand Deluxe Suite, and it's true that if you're in that room (which overlooks a busy little intersection and a tapas joint) you will pick up some noise. But nightlight in Sevilla and Spain is part of the package, and we didn't find it problematic or offputting in the slightest.

But perhaps the most special thing about the hotel was the service. All of our pre-visit emails were answered promptly and clearly. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful, gracious and friendly (and patient with our son, too!). In particular, the manager of the hotel stole my son's heart. We saw her walking in town one night and he ran over to throw his arms around her--that's how much of an impression her kindness made on him! We thank you all for taking such good care of us and making our visit so memorable!

Room Tip: The Grand Deluxe Suite was worth it!
