I had reviewed this hotel for some time on TA & concluded that most reports were positive.
I went ahead & booked 7 nights for myself & my wife as we had for some time been wanting to visit Seville.
The holiday package was booked through BA holidays.
We had arranged with the hotel to pick us up from the airport and made our way there in a shiny white Merc taxi.
On entering the hotel we just knew that this was going to be a good place.
Then it just got better as we were upgraded to ex suite with own patio and sun beds.
After a very warm welcome we were shown to our room and it was everything you could wish for.
Waiting on the table was Cava/Choc's & fruit.
There was a 'free' mini bar containing beer/soft drinks/water replaced daily.
All bedding was replaced daily.
A/C was very quiet.
So to sum up:-
Very helpful & friendly staff who will help with all your travel questions.
Quiet peaceful surroundings.
Very nice Breakfast at additional cost.
The biggest Gin & Tonic ever.
Not too far from most attractions, you will need a couple of days to get your bearings.
There are maps available at the front desk.
Close to the station for trips elsewhere. We visited Cordoba & Cadiz by train.
Thank you to all the staff who made this a brilliant trip to a beautiful city full of Art & glorious buildings. Our favourite area Santa Cruz.

Room Tip: We were lucky to get upgrade to room 331

Like a hidden gem appeared this hotel on a non- descript street, and if you drive a car, a navigation system is most helpful. From the hotel good restaurants and the most famous sightseeing places are within walking distance.
We had a lovely room, quite elegant, but not in the main building.
The breakfast room is a bit cellar-like. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed for 5 nights in May. This hotel is tucked away in a quiet back street but luxurious nevertheless. Probably the best bed I have ever slept in, great showers and free mini bar stocked with water, fruit juices and beer. Much appreciated in the heat. Our room also had a shared balcony but the room adjacent was empty. The outside courtyard was shaded and a nice place to relax but like some other reviewers the staff were missing and we had to keep going to the reception to find someone to take an order. However the rest of the staff from the restaurant staff to the room maids and reception couldn't have been more helpful. The reception made several helpful recommendations about eating out. While breakfast was a bit pricey at €20 it was extensive. There was even a bottle of Cava open so may be it justified its price. Would certainly stay here again.

We just returned from our 3 night stay at this amazing hotel. I honestly can't think of one negative thing about our exeperience. The hotel staff was friendly from the moment you walk in the door -- always offering a great restaurant to try, something to see, or a cold refreshing drink. The hotel itself is gorgeous. An old palace renovated into a hotel, but still maintains that Spanish eloquence and the history. Our room (grand deluxe) was phenomenal. Beautiful bathroom with a soaking tub and dual sinks. The shower had three settings -- including hydro massage, my personal favorite. The bed was extremely comfortable and the windows that opened and overlooked the terrace were great. Everything was always spotless. I really liked that the mini bar was free of charge -- easy to grab a juice in the morning or have a glass of water before bed. All in all, a fantastic stay. I will return, but until then, I'll tell all of my friends and family to stay here!

Lovely hotel with extremely attentive staff; from the front desk people to the cleaning lady. It has the charm and magic of old Sevilla with all the modern amenities. Huge rooms, comfortable beds and sitting area, separated bathroom/shower/bath. Tucked away in narrow alleys of the old city and within walking distance of all attractions such as the Alcazar, the old cathedral, ... and a ten minute taxi ride to the main train station. I'd definitely stay there again on my next visit and would recommend it to friends and family.

Just back from 5 nights staying here in Seville.

The entrance to the hotel is impressive. From a tiny side side you walk up marble steps through a huge open door in to a beautiful open courtyard, with a fountain at its centre. A calming oasis from the heat of the city. Walking through in to a more central courtyard, with tasteful sofas, chairs, tables and sun umbrellas. Sour orange trees, plants and herbs made this a peaceful place to have a drink and relax. However the tiled floor needs some repair work done and the soft furnishings are a bit tatty and need replacing. We also found that you had to keep going back to reception to order drinks, as there was not any other staff nearby. I also agree with previous comments about the roof terrace. It is an amazing space and a great sun trap. But not very inviting, with uncomfortable sun loungers, a tiny plunge pool and one token Bourganvillia. It needs better quality sun loungers/sun terrace furniture and some plants to make it a 5* space.

Our room (322) was lovely. A very comfortable bed and pillows plus and a very large shower. The mirrored shiny black tiles in the toilet were odd. Who wants to see yourself sitting on the toilet? We could also have done with more hanging wardrobe space and there were not enough drawers. We found room to be very clean. Towels, dressing gowns and sheets changed every day.

We mainly had breakfast at one of the many local establishments. A five minute walk away - turn right out of the hotel - and left at the end of the road. We had the traditional orange juice, coffee and toast for less than 6 euros for the two of us. We did have the hotel buffet once, which did have some great hot and cold selections. But at 20 euros each, felt this was way overpriced. Not really value for the money charged.

This hotel is a good 10 minute walk through the side streets to the bustling tapas bars/restaurants near La Girlada, Seville Cathedral etc. It took us 2 days to learn a route, as the side streets all look the same!

Other top tips - the big tour groups(and there are a lot!) all seem to meet in the morning to look at the main attractions. The queue for the Cathedral was really long every morning. But after lunch it was much better. We went about 2.30pm and it was fairly quick. Also remember to take cash as they do not accept card payments!

All in all we had a really good trip, but I think they have a way to go before they become a 5* hotel.

We really enjoyed AlmaSevilla Palacio de Villapanes. As soon as you enter, you can only be impressed by the Palace and its patio. The service was attentive, and very friendly. The bed was so confortable (perfect mattress, you can sleep for hours). We also enjoyed the spa (sauna and showers). A great experience for a people seeking a quiet and unique time in Seville!
