The food was very nice, but it was quite expensive, especially for the size of the portions. The service left something to be desired too. Our waiter was friendly, but he was left on his own to serve a table of almost 20 of us and seemed to get a little bit flustered when we asked for anything slightly different.

We booked lunch here en route from the airport to a river cruise starting at 5pm. As we wanted tapas, we were seated on the ground floor, options of in or outside. When we arrived we were alone, but when we left there were no tables free - in, out or pavement. It is on a lovely local square which had a Christmas market with real camels, food stalls, and so on, all very local and lovely.

The tapas were lushious and wonderful, more than we'd expected. We were 7 and drank many bottles of house white and red wine, and kept ordering more food and drink. A merry lunch and 7 very contented people. And all for £20 each!

The area is just off-central - a short walk, local with quite a few gay bars of various types (and the restaurant had a big gay birthday party upstairs when we were there) - all relaxed and trendy, and interesting for us as a gay group of friends.

We certainly hope to be back, and for longer!

The best tapas I had in Seville -- flavorful and unique. The foie gras & rabbit courses were especially memorable. Ate there 3 times to try as many things as possible on the menu!

Walking down the Alameda de Hercules recently myself & my friend decided to have lunch here. We ordered tapas & a bottle of Rueda wine. The tapas were simple but delicious. The service was terrific & the staff were very friendly. We would rate this restaurant very highly.

After running across Al Aljibe on TA and realizing how close it was to where we were staying, we thought we would give it a try. After having quite a few not-so-great tapas experiences, my expectations were somewhat tempered despite the relatively high rating on TA. Because it was a cold and rainy evening, the patio was not available for seating and we sat inside. From the first bite, it was clear that this was higher-quality food than anything we had eaten recently in Spain. Everything we tried was nothing short of outstanding, and I have to say that the Solomillo de cerdo marinado con leche de coco y mantequilla de cacahuete con batatas asadas was simply the best thing I have ever eaten, ANYWHERE. The ambiance inside was pleasant, and the service was both very friendly and efficient. It was one of those meals that you keep thinking about the next day (and the next and the next). We enjoyed it so much, we came back again a few nights later. This time, the weather was cooperating a bit more, and we were fortunate enough to score a table on the patio. Despite a cool evening, the heat lamps and enclosed area made it an even more magical experience. Once again, the food was spectacular and the service was perfect. Consider Al Aljibe a "can't miss" if staying in Seville!
