We stumbled across this small restaurant by accident. It stands out from the crowd as it looks very different to the other tapas venues in the street (and there are loads). We only really wanted a light lunch and the menu seemed to offer a good choice of light and fuller options.
The staff were fantastic. They were friendly, prompt and kept an eye on how quickly we were eating to ensure the tapas was perfectly timed.
However, the star of the show was the food. The menu (in Spanish and English) had unusual descriptions, such as basil gummys, and we were a little sceptical but when the food arrived it was truly excellent. It was light, fresh and very tasty.
There was a good wine selection but on this occasion we stuck to beer. However, the following day we were looking for somewhere a little different for our evening meal and just couldn't find anywhere that looked like it would beat La Azotea so we returned and went for the fuller options. Another truly excellent experience.
I can not recommend this place highly enough. It deserves exploration and i wish the owners and the staff well. Thank you.
A tip for others...we arrived at around 8pm and shortly afterwards all the tables had gone suggesting this place is now well known by all.
