Vineria San Telmo is one of those local places that can pass unnoticed to the common tourist in Seville. It is just another normal looking place on a normal street near Alcazar gardens.
But the trained eye should look on the menu and on the tables to see the real treasure.
The collection of wines, the exquisite meal, the presentation of the meal and the help of the staff are all top notch.
Don't try a single course, you should choose multiple courses - "tapas" size (which is somehow less than half of normal portion). We tried 6 tapas for 2 persons and it was amazing. Just to give you some hints: salmon tartar, shrimp carpaccio, fois gras with fruits and chocolate....
Best meal in town!
1) We stayed there 2 hours, no one hurried us because we had 6 courses which were brought one by one...but definitely it is not a restaurant where you can stay with a soda in front of you all day. They are loaded with reservations due to quality.
2) It is a place where you can discuss in English with the staff, sorry for other nationalities who underrate this restaurant for this reason, they should appreciate this in Spain where it is so hard to talk with people in some other language than spanish.
3) If you want to go there to buy a beer and have fun, don't, it's not for you. It's a place for food enthusiasts.
