You can tell an authentic tapas bar when the majority of people are standing at the bar, eating their food and the floor is covered with used napkins (sounds weird but it is a sign that people appreciate the food). Bodega Santa Cruz is exactly that.
If you want somewhere to sit down and relax, this is probably not the place for you. It is a very busy place. If you stand and eat at the bar, expect people to be brushing past you. It is busy, with both tourists and locals, because the food is good. I had my favourite tapa in this place, although I can’t remember the name (sorry) but it was essentially posh scrambled eggs.
The bar staff are efficient and give you good recommendations if you ask and I speak very little Spanish.
If you fancy a snack and a beer, this is the perfect place. Great experience!!
