“Fun place”
Reviewed April 10, 2014 via mobile

In the center of everything in the Santa Cruz district. We found it a very traditional tapas bar where they write on chalk on the counter. The food is good. The place is a lot of fun on Friday and Saturday night when the las Tunas groups show up in Middle Ages costumes to serenade. The only down side is that they speak very little English.

“Don't miss it for any reason!!!! Authentic experience and delicious food...”
Reviewed April 9, 2014

Very close to the Cathedral... this Bodega is a hot spot in town...
always full of people inside and outside, at the porch.... they offer the best tapas in town...
Go at the counter, order a beer (cana) and start tasting the mouthwatering tapas they offer...
a Tip.... when it's possible, always pick the tapas serving, not the plate..... serving are huge and you risk to order too much!
Don't expect a fancy place... Looks like a 70s bar... with old furnitures...
is always crowded and you can either eat at the counter or pick your food and go out in one of the outside tables and stools.
I recommend to stay at the counter...you will order and order and everytime the waiter will write down on the counter with a chalk your subtotal.... very very nice!
getting to the food... better go prepared.. even if you know spanish, most of the names really don't explain you what the food is...and you risk to miss something...
Not to be missed: stuffed tortilla or tortilla rellena (divided in 2 like a focaccia and stuffed with creamy sauce, mayo and ham), patatas ali oli, montaditos (their paninis filled with typical andalusian food), try the jamon serrano one, the one with chorizo picante and the one with tortilla.
This place is famous for their stockfish fried croquette (bunuelos de bacalo), and if you like strong flavours, fried egg with potatoes, red peppers and tomato sauce.
for all this food plus 4-5 canas usually it costs 21-22 euro...and for huge quantity of food...
Everything is fast, waiters are quite rude but in a nice way and always running up and down..
Simple, delicious and authentic...
make sure you don't miss such great spot in town....

“just a great authentic place”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

We 'found' this bar in June '13 and couldn't wait to get back this tirp. It's crowded; expect to stand either inside or at one of the little elbow rests outside; or just balancing your plate and glass. Food is comprehensive and excellent. Staff always busy but never bothered even if your pronunciation is terrible. If you want to sit, try getting there a little earlier about midday or go early in the week, not the weekend. It's very popular with locals.

“Favourite tapas bar in Sevilla”
Reviewed March 14, 2014

Our Spanish guide recommended us this place and I can't be grateful enough. The food is fantastic and cheap. The staff is really nice and helpful. Best tapas in Sevilla.

“Forget the fancy restaurants. The best food is in places like this”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

This is a very busy spot, near the Alcazar and the cathedral. It is packed with locals and is mainly standing inside with some tables on the footpath. The food is brilliant (particularly liked the chicken with potatoes) and comes very fast. Excellent atmosphere and proves that the best way to eat in spain is to choose a selection of tapas at various bars than sit down in a nice fancy (more expensive) restaurant. Be encouraged by the crush, not discouraged.
